Gray Jedi.

One the one hand, the Original Trilogy did a very good job on showing how the Jedi were mistaken about Love, as Luke\'s love for his father saved the Galaxy.

Take that Yoda.

On the other hand, the Sith are themselves, selfish, but they don\'t hate their emotions.

Grey Jedi are Jedi who, although light siders, explore and learn of the benefits of the dark side.

They may use emotion to win battles in which talk and meditation cannot result in peace or personal victory/survival. Qui-Gon Jinn is often referred to as a Grey Jedi, whose learning of the dark side and rebellion caused him to not be promoted to a Jedi Master and serve on the council. Obi-Wan Kenobi probably learned some Grey Jedi traits from his master as he uses the dark side to beat Darth Maul, but is strong enough not to let it consume him. Kenobi\'s padawan and later Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, while powerful in the Force, lacked the same maturity and self-discipline of his former Master, and fell prey to the dark side, suffering its self-destructive effects and becoming Darth Vader.

Grey Jedi are also referenced in the New Jedi Order series in which Luke Skywalker, while staying on the path of light and good, learned to use all of the Force, light and dark, meditative and emotional to his and the New Jedi Order\'s advantage. Grey Jedi are not to be confused with Dark Jedi. They are light siders and soldiers of good and justice. However they use the dark side within themselves (and every living being) to their advantage in their good cause. This is unlike the Sith who use the Force for themselves only, and often kill each other in lust for power. They are the embodiment of Darth Revan\'s famous quote from Knights of the Old Republic: \"The best Jedi are the ones who are still human.\" All humans have good and evil, light and dark in them. If they can use both to their advantage in their cause they are the most powerful of all. As Obi-Wan Kenobi said \"Only the Sith deal in absolutes.\"

The concept of Grey Jedi is popular in Star Wars fanfiction, and is also implied in the Expanded Universe novel Traitor, set during the time of the New Jedi Order. It also resembles the Michael Moorcock concept of the Eternal Champion who is tempted to choose between serving Law and Order, much like Jedi must choose constantly between Dark and Light sides of the Force but may ultimately find the best option to be keeping some sort of Balance. From a Junguian perspective their path bears a strong resemblance to the integration of Superego (Light side) and Shadow (Dark side).

It\'s Grey. And Dark Jedi are Evil Jedi. Grey Jedi aren\'t evil.

Being a grey Jedi sounds tricky. You know, like a very risky business. I\'d probably go with a dark jedi. That way, I\'m safe from Darth Vadar\'s eradicification of the counceil. however, there really aren\'t very many dark jedi, are there? What ever happened to all of them?

I\'d go with the Grey Ones anyway. That way you can profit a bit of both, yet you must be aware that you won\'t get caught. That\'s were I\'m good at. Running Hard, Being Sneaky, Hiding Anywhere...

I\'d be a Sith dude in a sec. I fit the profile, I never include weak characters in my party in mmorpg\'s, pass up the chance to do community service ahead of time so I don\'t get stuck doing it as a high schooler, and I\'m all around a really sarcastic guy with a demented sense of humor. Also, evil force powers own.

Well, the tough thing about being a grey jedi is that you have to be EXTREMELY careful, not just think you\'re in control. For instance, if you\'re too concious, you won\'t want to learn anything, and therefore, you will remain a regular jedi. On the other hand, if you were to try to hard, obviously, you would corrupt and become evil. But lord, Burrito, you\'re right! George Lucus would kill me off and laugh as he did it if I were a dark jedi! And you\'re right AirMaster, there were others. I remember now. Like Darth Sinistar! Although he was still killed.

How about Chris Angel, Mind Freak? Is he using the force? Or just a bunch of people scripted as random?:lol:
