Well, they\'ve done it. The controller is now known, and it is indeed a revolution. Click me!!

My first reaction: ...wow. That thing is definitely much farther from a standard controller than I expected. I\'m still a bit shocked about the concept... The touch screen of the Nintendo DS works extremely well, so I can easily imagine a controller which can \"feel\" his position in the air, along with a tilt sensor, being very fun to play with.

However, this might be the end of many of the multi-platform games. Because of the difference of power between the Revolution and it\'s two opponents (PS3 and Xbox 360), along with the strange controller, some companies might not bother porting games to the Revolution. On the other side, many more original titles could pop up, and this sort of thinking hasn\'t done any damage to the DS\' list of games.

Wow.

Wow.

Yeah, that\'s the word. Wow.
And it really, really, really, really, REALLY is very, very, very, very, VERY far from the normal controllers. Not very standard, eh? It will be just a little harder to master, especially if you never used a tv \'controller\'.

Wow.

Well, it pretty much made me go \"wtf?\" when I first saw it...and it still makes me do that. Seriously, I\'m not sure I\'ll be getting the Revolution now. According to the article, FPS games work fine and I guess that\'s cool for Metroid Prime. But I\'m not entirely sure for other games...=/

Yeah it LOOKS like a remote....but that does not mean it ACTS like one...didn\'t you take the time to read what you can do with that little thing. high tech motion sensors man. Think of a sword fighting game and you now have the sword, or a FPS or a survival horror game where you are the character you have the gun you aim you survive. sports games you are the player. do you not see the revolution in this thing

And doc the revolution might not be the most powerful next gen system, but then again it might be right on par with them, we\'ll never know till we see it in action.

Well!

This certainly adds another psuedo-realistic-interactive dimension to the Nintendo formula!

Gosh, just imagine! Playing a horror FPS like Resi or Doom, and being scared silly. THen it\'ll be like your IN the game, trying to keep your gun steady!

Just....wow! I\'m getting this for sure!

Although I wonder how this will affect the Smash Bros. formula.

hmmm actually with the built in rumble feature i wonder how you can keep a straight aim when you shoot.. :conf:

maybe just adds to the realism of gun recoil?

I love Nintendo more now than I ever have, and I always knew if I stuck with them this whole time though the console wars, they\'d deliver...and here they are!

I can just imagine Resident Evil with full mouse/gyro capabilities...or something like House of the Dead...Mmmmm....

This makes me -so- happy in the pant\'s.[/font]

Reality swirled in a wholly blue manner, revealing absolutely nothing of merit. Things flashed madly in and out of existence like some entirely other sort of phenomena. On a whim, Kurt Vonnegut imploded, taking a sizeable hunk of Massachusetts with him. However, seeing as Massachusetts wasn't entirely sure it existed, the chunk wasn't all that big.

Actually, Nintendo themselves said that the Revolution\'s graphic powers are about 2 to 3 times to power of the GameCube, while Sony and Microsoft are putting out much higher numbers (in the scale of 20 to 30). However, both Sony and Microsoft are known to overhype while Nintendo usually gives out the straight numbers right away. Besides, we\'ve seen almost nothing from the Revolution\'s graphics, so it could be something interesting to watch for.

..what the hell is that thing?

I\'m reminded of the Philips CD-I.. I can\'t judge the thing yet but it does look odd. Also looks comfortable though..as of late, controllers have been a PAIN IN THE ASS. Especially the X-box ones..the \'small\' ones cause pain in my hands since they\'re so awkward. This definitely looks small enough, but not so small that you\'ll lose it in the sofa cushions.

Edit: And oh, they mentioned how they\'ll have \"shells\" and \"ports\" where you can hook stuff up.. I don\'t plan on getting a Revolution at all really, but damn..will all the controller accessories cost a bundle?

My guess is that a few common accessories might be included directly when purchasing the system and extra controllers. The others might simply be bundled with the games that need them, even if it means paying 10$ more for the game. It already happened several times: the rumble pack with Star Fox 64, the memory expansion pack along with Donkey Kong 64, the microphone for Mario Party 6, the GBA-GC cable with the Legend of Zelda: Four Swords, etc.

A Stick?

A stick looking thing with a thumb pad not even one the remote looking thing.......That controller may look cool to ya\'ll but to me it looks real stupid.I mean yeah it looks cool but the thumb pad needs a wire to move it around? That sounds stupid.....I\'d rather stick with the PS3 as Black Dranzer.exe said.

Heheh, this is going to be awesom!! When I saw it, I was like \"Ddduuuuuuuuuddeeeee!!!!!!!!!\"! Actually, for games like smash bro\'s, there will most likely be controllers that you plug the remote into to play. That way it can \'transform\', and play standard non fps type games. I am getting PS3 and the Revolution. I will most likely get PS3 first, though.

Gameplay possibilities? I got your stinkin\' gameplay possibilities.

--Swing the controler, swing your sword, and your char. could mimik the exact movement, not just a genaric slash.

--Conduct a band with the swish swish.

--Go fishing. Honestly, can you imagine how this would improve, say, Animal Crossing?

--FPS...\'nuff said. You could shoot from the hip, and the game would know it.

It doesn\'t have to. Nintendo already announced that the Revolution controller will have a sort of cradle available, where you plug-in the remote and end up with a \"standard\" controller + the movement detection.

Though Splinter Cell could be possible, Think of trying to play Madden or NBA Live or even Hockey on that thing.

It sounds like you didn\'t get my point. Nintendo will release an adapter for the controller that will turn it into something similar to a GameCube controller. At that point, anything that you would consider \"normal\" will be playable too.

Yes though it has that and slots on top of the console for Gamecubre controllers it still seems weird.
