If things go as planned, Minecraft will be updated to version 1.3 this week. However, don't update just yet! The server software might take a few hours, days or even weeks to be updated, and you wouldn't be able to join in the meanwhile! Keep an eye on this space to know when the upgrade will be done.
By popular request, I've added a quick tree felling plugin. You'll no longer need to spend a half-hour taking down those huge trees!
To enable this feature, type in /maon. Hit any bottom log of a tree, and the whole thing will come crashing down! To disable this, type in /maon again. Be careful to disable this command if working close to homes and such, accidental damage isn't covered by the warranty!
Here's a screenshot of what you can do in a few seconds, courtesy ...
The server has been down for several hours at least, and I've got no explanation yet to explain this situation. I'm hoping to see it resolved soon.
UPDATE: 24 hours in, I got word from my host that there is a possible Minecraft/Bukkit exploit affecting several of their customers as well as other server providers. They need to go through servers one by one to check on them, which means that this could take more time still.
UPDATE 2: Well, crud. We've been hit harder than ...
Krodane and SuperMonkeyBoy, helped with Zareck, have created a first video clip highlighting a few server elements. Another recording session took place tonight with more expected soon, so be sure to subscribe to the channel, comment on the videos, and share them with others!
As the server's community is growing, and to help it go even further, I'm looking for a few people to help. Namely:
One or two operators to supervise the current and new players. Ops are responsible to make sure that everyone is aware of the rules and follows them, and provide help and pointers to new and current players as needed.
One YouTube reporter extraordinaire to post videos and promote the server. We have a YouTube channel currently sitting unused, and I'd like to h ...
The upgrade to Minecraft 1.2.5 is scheduled to hit tomorrow. This time around, you're safe to update as soon as you want: there are no compatibility issues between the client and the server!
I know that many of you have been waiting for this, so here goes: our Minecraft server is now running on 1.2.4! Be sure to update your client as soon as you get the chance!
There are two important things to keep in mind with this update:
- Mobs now have pathfinding. This means that they can navigate their way around obstacles. Creepers have been shown to be able to navigate mazes. Be very careful to get used to this!
- Double doors have been fixed in this update, but this means that the ...
The server is now back online! We're still running on v1.1 for the time being, but this maintenance update allowed me to refresh the list of plugins and clean the overworld map's files. This will make the transition to 1.2 much easier.
While on the subject of 1.2, we'll be moving to it as soon as possible. I'm aiming for the first Beta Bukkit version available, which I expect to see available in the next few days.
The next update to Minecraft, version 1.2, is set to be released this week. Once again, please do not update until an annoucement is made here! The server-side software takes some time to be ready, and if you update too soon, you'll no longer be able to connect and play with us!
Not everyone is familiar with the server's map as some of us are, while others sometimes have trouble finding the one location they want to visit. To help with that, how would you like to have a nice dynamic map? :-)
The map is constantly updated with all changes done on the server, including construction, so you get a clear picture of how everything is organized. All three maps are included: the overworld, the Nether, and the End. You can move between those using the right sidebar, ...
The End, lair of the EnderDragon, has been reset. Any adventurers who wish to attempt the boss battle can now head to the Stronghold and try it! The map will be reset as needed, once a week at most, to give access to that part of the game to all players. This is also open to all those who already completed the battle, of course.
This has an important consequence: all construction work on the End is removed whenever the land is reset, so don't waste any time building permanent structu ...
If all things go as planned, Minecraft 1.1 will be released shortly. As a reminder, please do not update your client when offered to do so! The server will remain on 1.0.1 until CraftBukkit and the plugins have been updated properly, which will take some time. If you upgrade before that happens, you will no longer be able to connect to the server.
Minecraft 1.0 (no more "beta" label attached) is supposed to be released today. However, if you want to keep playing on the server, you must not update yet! The server is still using Beta 1.9 Pre-release 5, and will be updated only when the plugins support structure, Bukkit, is ready in a 1.0-compatible version. This will take some days at least.
If you update by mistake, and want to be able to connect to the server again, simply follow the directions included in my previous post to downg ...
A new challenge is now available in the lobby! UHC makes a return, this time in a hilly, northern setting. As a reminder, you can earn 5 Merit Points for completing each of these tasks:
* Crafting a bookshelf
* Crafting an enchantment table
* Accessing the Nether
* Picking up a blaze rod
You can then (https://www.creeperslab.net/merit_points.php) for various perks like flight, keep inventory, End of Time access, and more!
The server has been updated to the latest version of Minecraft. If you've been looking forward to throw fireworks, or watch dropped items spin, please update now! This also fixes the problem with the Nether map display.
1.4.7 is scheduled to hit soon, but is compatible with 1.4.6. Furthermore, the server already incorporates the bug fixes of the upcoming version. As such, feel free to update as soon as the game offers it to you!
It took a while to hear back from all winners, but it's now time to say who won in our first giveaway!
- Minecraft account: Tri-Edge
- Minecraft Xbox t-shirt: Blake Ashby
- Xbox avatar cape: Lord Itachi
I've contacted all winners, and prizes have been handed out or will be soon! Congratulations to our three winners, thank you to everyone who entered, and keep an eye on this space for more exciting news in the future!
Right on schedule, Minecraft will be updated to 1.4.7 tomorrow. Feel free to update as soon as the launcher offers it: this is compatible with the current version of the server, and said server already includes the bug fixes of this latest release.
First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who applied for a position as server helper. It's good to know that you care about the server and it's community!
Please welcome to the staff daylightnightmar, MaximumRose and Phrogie who have been selected to assist the player base with everything they need. Congratulations! I've sent you three a private message on the forums with detailed information.
Depending of the activity level on the server and the available free time ...
Minecraft 1.5.2 is expected to be released soon to fix some bugs. Unfortunately, 1.5.1 servers and 1.5.2 clients are NOT compatible. This means that, in order to keep on playing with us, you must wait before upgrading!
The jump to the new version should happen faster than the 1.5 update as fewer changes have been done to the game. Please be patient until then!
As the server's population grows, so do the needs of the players! In order to stay on top of things, we're looking for a few helpers to join the server staff.
To do so, a new Helper rank will be created. People taking those positions won't be server ops: instead, I like to think of them as community managers, mostly responsible with the well-being of the player base. Their duties will include:
Greeting the new players and answering any questions they might have.Checking on ...
We've got several locations on the server that work better when multiple players are involved, such as PvP arenas and pig racing. Likewise, some attractions like the Garden Maze are far away from the players who'd like to try them.
To make a better use of these locations, and have succesful large scale happenings, we'd like to schedule a weekly events time period. For it's duration, special teleports would be enabled, allowing players to quickly reach a given destinati ...
As announced last week, an extra set of 50 achievements has been added today, for a grand total of a HUNDRED rewards waiting to be claimed!
This latest batch focuses less on the silly ("Creeper Wannabe - Blow yourself up twice") and more on high-value targets ("First Blood - Kill another player in PvP") and server specific features ("Sunset Ride - Ride the Transoceanic Line").
Just as before, there are three types of achievements: those that are known to all, those that become visible ...
A set of utility commands have been added to the server. Players now have access to commands such as /time to get the current in-game time and /msg to send private messages. It's also possible to protect chests, doors, furnaces and dispensers using a new set of instructions. That way, you can secure the booty found on your adventures, ensuring that no one else will go through it while you're gone!
The server has been upgraded to 1.0.1 tonight, so you'll need to update your game to be able to connect. To do that, simply answer "YES" when the game warns you about a new version being available!
From this point forward, we'll stick to official Minecraft releases only. There will always be a delay between game and server upgrades, so please keep an eye on these news to know when and when not to update.
Some access rights weren't set properly, meaning that non-trusted players couldn't lock their chests and doors. This has been fixed.
As a reminder, everyone is able to lock their chests, doors, furnaces and trapdoors to prevent other people from going through them. To do that, type in /cprivate while near the object to lock, then left-click it to apply the setting. If the game complies that it's already locked, or if you want to remove the protection, type /cremove. As an e ...
A public chatroom is now available for the players of the Creeper's Lab!
This new chatroom, available on IRC, also ties directly to the server. This means that people in the chat can talk to those within the game, and vice versa! For the full details, please see the new chat page. In short, the IRC server is irc.chat4all.org on ports 6666-6669 and 7000, in the channel #interordi-mc. Web clients are also available.
After weeks of talks and planning, a group of adventurers decided to make a stand: they'd go and rid the land of the dangerous EnderDragon, whose lair was at the extreme edge of the world as we know it.
DrCossack, Krodane, Sagecryst and TopHatLayton. These are the four heroes who were ready to go forward and put an end to the reign of the evil beast. Weeks, nay, months of hunting and mining had been required to assemble everything required for this noble quest. Armor had to be forged ...
The server has been upgraded to Minecraft 1.1! Please update your clients, and visit us as soon as you get the chance!
This update brings some changes to the weather, so previously green areas might be receiving snow while other regions will get a warmer climate. I haven't noticed any major changes so far on that front, but maybe you'll find a surprise while exploring!
