However, that wouldn\'t explain why he still has the scars everytime he\'s rebuilt... I\'d say that it\'s just decoration.

I think the \"scars\" are like Kenshin\'s scar. Initially thrown on just for the appearance without any thought and defined later.

They don\'t look like scars at all to me. I think they just look like \"face paint,\" kind of like Bass had.
You see in X3 that Sigma, while fighting Zero, did not have the scars. Back then, he was also not maverick. I always thought the marks had something to do with his becoming maverick.

They look like face paint to me, and that\'s exactly how I\'d interpret them--face paint on a demented clown.

I would have to go with the scars being a reminder of what X did to him and also as a sign of becoming a maverick or at least thats what i think.

InactiveIt is also possible that Sigma was wounded during his days as a Maverick.

as already said he got the scars from X, i saw that in the Maverick Hunter X secret movie clip "The day of Σ" and i think the same face was used everytime he was rebuild, the face from X2 is the same from X1, that's what i mean. and that's why i think he still has them,
or he think he's just another badass with those
