Edit4: May 10, 2006 - After unveiling Super Smash Bros. Brawl to the US press this evening at the annual E3 Expo in Los Angeles, Nintendo announced via its Japanese website that star videogame composer Nobuo Uematsu is responsible for the game's main theme.



Uematsu composed the new orchestral title track, while Japanese opera star Ken Noshiori can be heard singing the tune.

One of the most celebrated composers of music in the interactive entertainment medium, Uematsu was responsible for the memorable soundtracks in most Final Fantasy games, Kingdom Hearts, and the recent FFVII: Advent Children movie.

I've already watched it TWENTY TIMES before finding this thread. IT DOES NOT GET OLD. I love super flashy attacks and it looks like Brawl has it in SPADES.

Can't make fun of the Wii now...the Wii is owning you AS WE SPEAK.

That is so AWSOME! I love the new graphics! and I thought they were going to run out of characters, however it looks as if they are not sticking only to Nintendo now...

SSB:B may infact have a good story in single player mode!

Nintendo: Will the single-player of Super Smash Bros. be the same as it was on the GameCube?

Masahiro Sakurai: No, we're going to change it. I think we're going to try and make a single-player mode that people can enjoy a little bit more than perhaps they did on the GameCube.

Shigeru Miyamoto: This is actually something Mr Sakurai and I have had a difference of opinion on since the very first Smash Bros. game. Mr Sakurai always wanted to have a very deep single-player game, and on the N64 version I just said to him, you know, we've got plenty of very deep single-player games, why don't you hurry up and just focus on multiplayer and don't worry about the single-player. And Mr Sakurai said no, no, no, I want to have some kind of single-player in there so I just said well, make it really short so we can focus on multiplayer and get the game done. And we kind of did a little bit of that on the GameCube, but a bit more single-player than that. This time we're getting a lot of time to focus on Smash Bros., plenty of time to develop it, so people can expect a very robust single-player game.

Holy... Pit? Meta Knight? Suitless Samus? This game just sounds better all the time! And that movie looks simply incredible!

And then the shocker: SOLID SNAKE?!?! Looks like the dreams of Sonic and MegaMan in Super Smash Bros. isn't as far fetched as people thought! Never thought I'd see this!

And then Nobou made the music? Just one surprise after another! I can't wait for this game!

Truly, when I have the chance to purchase a Wii and this game, I'll grab it instantly with all eight hands I have at my disposal.

The movie ROCKED. Great graphics, music, and the battles and new characters looked as much to me as just screaming: "GREASTETS GAEMPALY EVAR!!!1"

Finally I see some pictures for SSMB! I did not see much of Fox "may favorite character" but I did see a link to Fox DS. Is Brawl online? If it was said before I did not read previous posts.

Solid Snake was deffinatly a suprise but not an unwelcome one on this end. I just want to know how his attacks will work. I hope that his shield will be the box. That leaves his down B attack open to me a claymore mine.

I also like the inclusion of Metaknight. He's just awesome.

Well Morph you were mostly right.

As for the appearence of Snake, it's quite a surprise and alittle odd. He has only two exclusive games for nintendo, the rest PS, PS2, PSP. I welcome him with open arms however. I might turn to nintendo and become one with them insted of Sony just for that. Maybe they'll even put Leon S in it, or Tony Hawk, or even Bomberman! That would be funny yet cool at the same time.

As for the Ultima moves, any idea what Snake's would be? Da box!

Snake: "Si, senior. El boxo muchos coolio."

I'm thinking a bunch of rocket launched at the enemy would do nicely. Or maybe one of the Metal Gears. Now THAT'D be cool.

Instead of the usual "FAILURE!" screen when falling during a challenge, Snake should get his trademark gameover screen...

"Snake? What happened? Snake?! SNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAKE!"

And I guess I am going to get the Wii. As much as I didn't want to, the whole, "Allowing the GC controller to be compatible with the Wii to play SSB:B." thing is cool. And it is online.

I'm definitely not the only one with the opinion that Fred Rogers (King Friday included) and Fat Albert should be characters.

..oh, so now we drop all the namecalling and chuckling because the Revowii has Solid Snake, Samus without her armor, and Uematsu (not a playable character but man that'd be great) in Smash Bros.? Hah.

I never liked Metal Gear, but Snake at least is funny in certain situations, this hopefully being one of them.

I can't wait for this game!!!!! I have watched the movie clip about 50 times and have downloaded the song and have listened to it about 300 times! When this game comes out i'm getting it for sure. The graphics are amazing, the sound is fantastic! Now I shall describe what I fell about the characters

It looks very good and promising. I just worry about the graphics. As nice as the screens look we don't want another Godfather Incident. Other than that Fricken sweet.

Well, obviously it's all huge cutscenes. I'm confident the in-game graphics will be pretty good.
