Yes, this does seem rather spammy. But yes, I did like that game. It had great music and levels.

Actually, I'm not going to lock this. I think there's a chance that this could develop into decent enough discussion with proper direction.

A better question than asking if our the members of our community liked Megaman 3 is asking what they liked about it - especially in comparison to the other games in the series. :)

Megaman 3 has my all time favorite robot master in it: Gemini Man. While I think his design is rather neat, what I really like about him was he was the original robot master to split into two/make copies of himself, and that is just plain cool. Additionally, I think using a zodiac sign like that as a concept for a robot master is fairly unique, and a better sign couldn't have been picked. Sagitarrius Man? No, it just doesn't have the same ring to it.

The somewhat reappearance of the Megaman 2 bosses was pretty cool too. While the Dr. Cossack, "Proto Man" and Mr. X castles did make the ensuing games longer as well, conceptially, I like the idea of fighting past bosses more.

And of course, Megaman 3 is the introduction of Proto Man and his theme, for which it deserves special nods.

It's also my favorite game in the original series, since it introduced my favorite robot master: Snake Man (which had a sucky BN redesign) I also loved the stages in that game...speaking of which...*runs to play* <<;

That game had some fun and creative bosses, and it avoided most "elements" enemies like "Fire Man" and "Aqua Man". The four Doc Robot levels were also quite interesting, since they had parts from the older levels yet added some difficulty. I think it's a valid replacement for the second fortress!

I gotta say, after MM2, it's kinda hard to enjoy MM3. I mean, the bosses in 2 were just so great. In the next game, we end up with... TopMan and such. I try to like TopMan. I mean, he's a fine robot master design...

I'd say my favorite robot master in the game is probably GeminiMan or SparkMan. SparkMan's a cool robot master, and GeminiMan has a pretty original strategy.
I did like the music in this game... but again, not as much as MM2.
You know what? I really liked SnakeMan's stage to start with. "Oh man, this is gonna be awesome! I'm fighting on a bunch of robotic snakes! The stage matches its boss so well!" And wouldn't you know it? All of a sudden I'm on a smokestack with bullets disguised as clouds.
And Gamma wasn't really that great. Especially after OMGzWilysanalien in MM2.

All in all, it's certainly a great Megaman game though.

Agreed fully. But they also redesigned Metal Man poorly..and Toad Man... Well, they couldn't really ruin Toad Man..

I personally didn't like 3, because of how glitchy it was. It's a fine game but not one of my favorites.

I liked MM3 beause it was my first MM game and I came to like Snakeman. I've had this game for along time, I got to the doc robot stages when I was real little and got stuck. I finally found it again and beat it.

Changing Snakeman to a almost full animal-design I didn't like at all. It was horrible. Could they ruin him anymore?( of course they could )

While Mega Man 3 is a good game, it is one of my least favorite Mega Man games.I enjoyed most of the music and some of the bosses. The levels themselves I wasn't to crazy about, but really I can't put my finger on why I don't like it. And FlareMan, nice avatar. Where ever did you get it? :)

Number 2 was much better than this, but 4 owned all of them with Pharoahman and skullman, (Sucky BN redesigns I admit).

I don't know about that, I rather liked both of those redesigns. PharaohMan's switch from a pharaoh to a coffin-like boss was an original idea.

And I certainly like Skullman.EXE better than regular Skullman. Skullman just looks like Megaman in a Halloween costume.

I was just disappointed in Metalman.EXE. Looks like friggin Optimus Prime.

I just hate the fact that Skullman was all scrawny and not in his original colors.
My pet peeve with Pharoahman was just the fact that he gets to levitate and doesn't even move any limbs when he fights.

Also, Metalman was more of an Omega Supreme to me.

I disagree. MM3 was much better than MM2, in my opinion.

1. MM3 provided the sliding ability.
2. MM3's music was more solid overall. We have tracks like Hard Man, Magnet Man (the second major-key stage theme), Needle Man, the intro theme, Protoman's theme, and the continue/password theme. From MM2, the best tracks are Bubble Man, Quick Man, Crash Man, and maybe Metal Man and Air Man--but of these, only Bubble and Crash rank nearly as high as Hard Man's theme in my opinion. The MM3 soundtrack featured, overall, better instrumentation and more coherent use of tonality. And it doesn't have boring tracks like Flash Man--cool intro, but thankfully, the stage is short and I don't have to listen to the boring loop too much.
3. MM3 is more reasonable in its challenge. Some things in MM2 were pretty unreasonably difficult (e.g. time stopper being necessarily continuous, Quick Man's stage overall, Quick Man himself) and the gameplay of MM3 was generally smoother.
4. In MM3, you can cheat if you suck at the game (like I do).

I still prefer MM6 the most though.
