That's probably true. Capcom's can be pretty good at that... (shattering my dreams I mean) Mega Man 9 wouldn't be a remake though, so they could make it with some decent graphics that look more like the first 6. That'd be awsome...of course I by no means expect that to happen.

I'm a Mega Man nut... I own them all, and have them in a lighted display case to boot.

For once Capcom did something out of place with their graphics that, in a rather wierd-to-get-used-to sort of way, made the game rather enjoyable in a new regard.

Personally, I'd like to see a MM2: PU and a MM3: PU. Those would be awesome.

He is a she. But I guess we'll never really know. :P

I agreed completely with her. MM8 was a good game.

I liked Wily's voice (better than the squeely old man voice they had in MM: PU) and I thought Protoman's voice was pretty good too, even though it doesn't take much talent to do his voice.

If any Mega Buster SFX sounded especially bad, it would have been MM7. That was a true pea shooter. Not to mention, the Mega Buster was under powered when compared to other Mega Man games. However, if you've played MM7 on the Anniversery Collection on Easy, you'd get exactly what you had hoped for in a Mega Buster. ;) Don't get me wrong, MM7 is probably my favorite game of the Classics. The gameplay was truly remarkable. It's a shame it was overshadowed by Mega Man X at the time of it's release.

Superficial things can be important if they are bad enough to ruin a game. This game was the greatest example of this for me. Oh, and btw, I never though Mega Man was a little boy untill Powered up came out, it was the only game that truely said this. I always had pictured him as a man...you know like the title states, Mega MAN!?!

Heh, maybe at first. However, I got past all of it after a bit of memoriztion. The thing is, unlike the other Mega Man games, going through these sections wasn't fun because of the annoying voice. Sure I could have just muted it or somthing, but that is besides the point. Games shouldn't have to be muted to be fun. The block patterns can be tough the first time through, but over comming them was fun..and there wasn't a stupid (imo) voice telling you to jump either.

Just because it's a sequel doesn't mean things have to always be the same. Hell, look at MMBN4. It was a huge change from BN3. I mean, yeah it had it's flaws, but a lot of people preferred the Souls to Styles (And everyone preferred the Styles from BN2/3 to the armors from 1, IIRC)

I don't really like the battle network series, but anyway I think an even better example of a series changing drastically from sequal to sequal would be the Final Fantasy series. Thing is they manage to do it right, and MM8 didn't for me, just like MMX7 didn't for the X series as far as I'm concerned.

I liked Gutsman's stage for the challenge. It took me awhile to get through it the first time, but hey no pain no gain right? See, that's one of my biggest points, I have absolutly no problem with a challenge, I just have a problem with annoying things in a game. (example: jump jump! slide slide!)

I was just making a point, not stateing that because they added a weapon at the begining it was a change in formula. What I meant was that if you have somthing good it doesn't nessessarily need to be changed. MM8 changed a lot of things, for the worse. (imo) They changed the sound effects, they added voice acting, and so on a so forth. I liked the fact that they had anime cut scenes, now if only they had proper voice acting done for them..I would have really loved them. Anyways, change in some ways can be good if done right, but all of the changed MM8 made rubbed me wrong. That's just the way it went for me, if it didn't go that way for a lot of other people, that's great.

I'm guessing you're talking about X6? Well that wasn't what I had wanted for it either, but like I said, no voice acting or just keeping the originals is better than bad dubbing. (imo)

That's fine. For me everything in a game works together as a chorus, and if one singer ( or part of the game in this case) is terrible, they can have a rather adverse effect on the chorus as a whole. In the case in MM8, however, there were many bad singers... (imo)

Yeah, I think it was stated early on that Megaman was programmed to be 10 years old, and that X was programmed to be 14, with the ability to mature.

And no, don't mention X4's voice actor. I am well-aware that 14 year old kids have deeper voices than that.

A last stage for the Elf Wars could be an actual war stage, where yu are part of an old Hunter Resistance army fighting Mavericks led by the insane Omega. It'd be really cool.

Axl could easily be the next X, seeing as he can copy others as well, just in a different way. The major villain of the Axl series could be a whole new villain, but Weil should at least star in one of it's games, and the Dark/Mother Elf as well. Sigma could be the villain of the first game, where he gets finished off for good by X and the Mother Elf, and the last could be where Weil and the Dark Elf are the main villains, and where X uses his body to seal the Dark Elf away. Of course, X will have founded Neo Arcadia along the way, and Zero would have gone into hybernation.

Actually, Morph, I was seeing Sigma in the last game, because the very reason X seals the Elf Away is because Sigma is caught in it.

I can imagine how it could work on a few systems...
Wii: Remote/Nunchuk = right arm(gun), left arm(gun)
DS: Touch-control weapon switching and DNA using, as well as 2-screen tall megabosses (no pun intended)
PSP: Well, Maverick Hunter worked, right?
PS3: How lifelike could they make it? I guess they could really make it special here, but $600 isn't worth it.

You sure? The game implied that Weil screwed with the programming.[/quote]

Why else would he? What else would the "curse" be (is Weil Gandalf in disguise, seeking revenge on our cruel world?)?

WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD THINK CAPCOM WOULD EVER, EVER GIVE PROOF OF ANYTHING!?

...[/crazy fit]

You got me, Morph. I just derived that from common sense and my unwillingness to see Sigma truly ever die.

From the Mega Man Zero 3 script:

Quote:
File #351848
== Dark Elf==

Officially known as the "Mother Elf." Creator unknown.

This Cyber-elf was originally created for the purpose of restoring Maverick
Programs to their original state...

But the Mother Elf was altered by Dr. Weil so she could be used to manipulate
Reploids, by freely rewriting programs.

Although the organized fighting of the Reploids manipulated by the altered
Dark Elf did end the wars, this terrible power was sealed off to prevent
misuse.

Okay. You all win.

...but the creator is unknown...
It would be so sweet to have Sigma make it as an ultimate weapon then have it used to kill him. Ha, it'd be so funny.

SIGMA: Mother Elf Beam!
X: Look at this Mirror Shield I stole from some kid with a green skirt!
*reflects besm*
Sigma: No, it can't be...
X: Yes, it is, you are done!
Sigma: WHOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!
*gets destroyed/sealed by Mother Elf*
X: It's over.
Link: I want my shield beck now.
X: And I want Zero to get a haircut, but we can't all have what we want, now can we?

I would give you the common sense, but the second? Neh-eh. Besides, in the Zero series it is said that Sigma died between the X and Zero series.

This reminds me of some DnD from the Forgotten Realms.

You see, there was a time where the gods were forced to walk the earth among mortals, many gods ended up dead during this time, among them was Bhaal the god of death. Planning ahead for this, he created a failsafe, in the form of several spawn. (a half-dragon, six humans, a half-orc, a drow, a fire giant, and the player in Baldur's Gate at least)

Now, the idea was that, in the case of his death, the spawn would of course be in several places--making them hard to wipe out, with some superhuman abilities as well. They would seek each other out and hold a contest of sorts--much like the Highlander--where they would kill each other and only one would survive. In an ironic twist, this one would be sacrificed to bring him back to life.

Naturally it failed, but still...

I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom were to attempt a plot of this type.

If you need me to draw the parallels, then you're beyond help. :P

I don't ever want to see him die either. However, if there was an X9, they could certainly clear up wether or not Sigma essentially died in X8.

YAY!

They say he did because he was on the moon with no place close enough to go. The sad thing with Capcom's story writers is that Lumine had the Virus in his chameleon chip - all Sigma had to do was go and join it. And notice that's when Lumine starts to get really loopy.

And plus, he stepped on Sigma's body much like Sigma did to Zero's when he was infected - calinky-dink?

I.
THINK.
NOT.
