I'm curious. RP forums can be a huge pain in the butt sometimes, but if you have the right fellows, they're fun as all heck. I'm the admin of one, myself. (it's listed in my sig) So how many of you have been an active member of one, or have even helped to run one? What sort of RP forum was or is it? Did you like it, or did it chase you away from the concept? What type of character did you play? Did you play more than one?

I always like to hear what other people think. ^^

I've been running EXE Warriors for about two, three years now. It's been a great medium for my ideas so far, though there's always been some difficulties in getting the other admins to help me out with the new rules I'm trying to implement. The only other forum RPG I'm in is in the IO RPG-I'm glad I still have some creative control, being as open-ended as it is, but other players can get annoying in it. Still, they're good enough to keep my attention.

Well, I am an admin at one RP (reachable via the picture in my signature), and I have gone to several others, including roughly 5 X-Men ones (maybe more), 1 about Heaven and Hell and all related stuff, a Naruto one, an "All Anime" one, one about fairytales at one time or another, and a few shortlived MegaMan ones. And the one thread here on IO, too, if I may add.

I usually play(ed) only one character, since I either didn't have much time to keep myself busy with it, was member on multiple boards at the time and thought it would be too hard to keep track of it all, or I just didn't bother with creating more characters. At one time I did have some 22 characters at one board, though, but aside from that the maximum was 3 at a time on one board (not counting dead characters).

If I have more characters, usually there is one I put much thought into and I play as mostly, whilst the others are moreso to either back the character up, or just as a change of things, like a way different personality, different abilities or physically different, such as female characters, characters from a certain area in the world, or just "different" in some way, or characters that have different beliefs.

Of course, I stay only to RP some more if it has my interest, and if I have enough time for it (study, job, etc.).

I'm active, the only sad part is the ones I join ususally die. Besides Morphs and IO's they've seem to have kept my interest the longest. My skills are still developing and I wish I could join more but I've found other ones but they didn't like my characters or just plain ignored me.

I've only been in this one, and Morph's. I'm a beginner, but I learn quickly.

I used to do some major RPing, but every forum I went to died after everyone got to know each other and it began to get really fun, which pissed me off.

Now I lack the attention span to RP again.

ATM, I'm only part of Morph's. I play as Fitz, pretty much a Jack Sparrow rip-off (First original character I made. EVAR. He's quickly turning into a unique character though, with plot twists made by myself. :P) And Sora, directly from Kingdom Hearts, As Buena Vista's Administrative branch character in his rp.

It's cool to see that other people are members of forum RP's, too. ^^ I guess I should answer my own questions now, huh? lol

The very first one I joined, I became the co-administrator of very shortly thereafter. It thrived for awhile, and then died due to some mismanagement and member drama, but now that I'm the acting admin, I'm trying my very best (as of about three days ago) to revive it, and the effort seems to be working. I've been a member of about three others... One that died similarly, though I posted right up to the end, one that I really couldn't stand and left quickly, and one that I couldn't find a place to post in the story so I never made out a character sheet. Of those four, all have been in some way Megaman related except one, which was random fantasy. (The one that I run now is Megaman Zero and we're looking for more members!)

As for characters, I've always had quite a habit of playing several. I have four right now, and will probably end up with more, but I always put my all into developing each one. I like the diversity and the complexity, I guess.

No I don't play as all of them, not yet atleast. Mostly its the Messiah and Diavol family I need to get into more.

I'm only on one forum RP and it seems to be dying because some people can't seem to find the time to post. Fortunately, only three of us are still able to keep going (and even then, the third can't really show up that much because she's forced to work a lot to cover for slacking co-workers at her job >.<)

It's not a full RP forum but I am an admin there.



Not full on like I said, we have a normal board, and the RP boards are kind of tacked on. At least that's how I like to think of it.

But Rioni, you wanted my opinion of RPing and I gave it to you, to try and give you an idea of what I've been through. Ahahahaha. Really, that's all I've ever seen, children fighting over who's strongest.

That's all I was saying, that I haven't seen anything good come out of the RPs that I've encountered.

lol, Hollow, that's not an RP, that's a godmoding contest. XD (My characters typically are pointedly weak. <_< ) The RP's I do are more like... a co-written fanfic with a well-thought-out plot and deeply developed characters. No offense to the people here, but I can barely consider the "An RPG" topic here an RP at all. Just... a bunch of people godmoding.

Meh, the "RPG" here is messier than most "RP"s, yeah. I still consider it fun to be in it though, though I sometimes feel like actually godmoding, with how my character seems to be the most typically human of all. >_____>

Meh, the RPG thread is certainly not one of the best "RP"s I've been in. The best of them just died because the admins lost interest in the site and went to make another RP. And just when it started to get interesting, too. >___________________>
