Zero just enjoys killing people. Simple, short, to the point.
Including himself, when he runs out of targets.

He is bored, since Alia died, he keeps an eye on X, he is always finding new bad guys to fight.
Their coming to take me away, hee hee haw haw hoo hoo

Alia never dies cuz she's hot. Iris, on the other hand...
Changing. Please wait...
Dunno about the rest of you, but I found Alia to be less attractive, so to speak, than Iris.
Well, seeing how Reploids seemingly don't decay, and that Iris herself didn't seem to have any of her body breached in any manner, I'd say she's more attractive than the typical corpse. D:
Maybe it's possible that Zero kept her body then...
If there's one thing that will turn a killing machine's crank, it's a dead girl that never decays.
I guess everything worked out in the end after all.
This is why I anger fanboys, I pretend the whole "Zero keeps Iris in a storage locker" thing is canonical.
I mean, he did mellow out after X4, besides the whole "nightmare" thing. Why else would a homicidal maniac mellow out?
Nah, I still say Zero literally has Iris' corpse in a storage locker.
Under his bed.
He talks to it at night.
Sometimes it talks back.
Why, my dear chaps, the answer is presented quite in the general area. It's hard to miss, like the side of a farmhouse.
Cheese, dear boy. Cheese.
Yes, THAT Hardman. This is the new and improved one.
I disagree. Anyone who paid attention to the most integral scene of Zero's development, the aforementioned "WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOOOOOOOOR!?" scene clearly shows that he is fighting for ham. The larger the ham content, the better.
