Woke up this morning, and heard on the news that the Space Shuttle Columbia blew up at 8:00 something, and tore into peices and discentegrated. All of the seven crew (6 americans, 1 isreali) are dead and a search and rescue team are finding their body parts. Most of the debris is spread out through most of texas...
I believe today is a sad day for America and Isreal, and india (one of the crew had a relative there).

I thought the shuttle just crashed somewhere..on earth and they didn\'t know where.

The shuttle disintergrated according to reports.
At the altiudte it was (200,000 ft) at and speed it was going at (Mach 18), nobody is going to survive this disaster.

That said, I salute the crew and all astronauts.

Yeah, the scientists are saying that the cause of the malfunctions was damage to the wing. This damage was supposedly inflicted duringl liftoff- why wasn\'t it noticed until after they were destroyed?:eek:

The disgusting thing about this is that some people are trying to sell the shuttle pieces on ebay. Thankfully, ebay banned these auctions, which is disgracful in my opinion! They were warned these pieces are radioactive! You would\'ve thought people would take notice. *shakes head in disgust*

I doubt it. The moon landing probably was, but not even NASA would fake something like this. Why would they make themselves look incompitant on purpose?

The moon landing was fake, the crash was fake, and so is your mom.

On topic: Theres alot of thing that can go wrong with a rocket, either, it fails to launch.
Or, it could burn up in atmosphere. Therefore, causing it to blow up. Anyway, I think it was bad that this happed.

No, but there is SOLAR WIND. The moon\'s lack of an atmosphere would allow the solar wind to hit it, as opposed to earth, where the solar wind is deflected by the magnetic field.
