Hmmm. I would agree with you because I know the types of people you mean. However, it is very stereotypical, and not always true. For example, a few of a popular people at school are pleasant to almost everyone (the others, they just don\'t tend to talk to) but I see who you mean. It\'s the attitude to others, that you mean, not the popularity.

I can\'t imagine you\'d be too fond of Elton John, then:lol:. He\'s known forblowing all of his mone as soon has he gets it. What!? He took advantage of the deaths of thousands!? What did he do!?Actually, I think Michael may be one of the most hated men after Osama Binladen, Saddam Heusein and Bill Gates.

Celebreties are people too... Most of them are made into what they are becouse of media and such. I am NOT saying that all of them are sencible, nice, thinking people. In fact I agree on most of your points, but many work hard to get a good job and do their best. I have friends that where in the paper, i saw that others that didnt know them started to critesize them at first sight.

This is honestly the only part I feel like responding to. At least for now. I don\'t enjoy the thought of typing up something long at the moment. If you don\'t like seeing them on tv, maybe you shouldn\'t be watching them. It\'s not like people forced you to and you don\'t have the option to ignore pop culture.

Unless someone in your household is actually forcing you. In that case I do apologize for assuming.

Canada\'s not that focused on such celebs in the long run, out of personal opinion.

Media has a way of greatly exaggerating celebs egos, sometimes augmenting, and insidiously flaunting their actions, be it on an ad, newspaper, TV...
Their private lives are also supposedly exposed, and the facts are usually altered from the truth.

But is the reality of having such attention.
The fact is, that the truth is rarely told. The media wants to excite, and the way they do that is by altering the fact.

Its pretty bad over here too. As if pop musichans and actors werent enough, the media has started following the royal famely around. You can se them everywhere, but on the other hand one just learnes to egnore it.

As for stupid people, that is a very common factor. There are many idiots out there, but the reassuring thing is that you are smarter than they are:lol:

Well, most singer/celebraties that I like are never on t.v, but the ones that I hate are always on t.v... WindRider~ Has made some good points... I will agree with most, though some celebs do this, well just because there\'rye insane.... Or going very poor. Anyways, its their life, they do what they want, I don\'t care... Now, let me \'elaborate\' on that.

I understand that Celebrities are basically an upgraded version of those attnetion addicts, that I like to classify as Preps.

Thankfully, I am not one of those......those....*feh*

Anyway, they are actually people. Most of them started out as preps, and are actually lucky enough to not only have rich parents, or good opportunities...but they actually have TALENT....or something, because that\'s the only reason why I\'d even contemplate them. However, the REAL reason why people gobble up every tidbit of info and what not, and A&E biographies and all that nonsense is because people don\'t want to face their own lives. They want to know what it\'s like to be rich, and famous, and loaded. Most people aren\'t any of these things, so they enjoy watching others who ARE, because they are envious.

anyway, it\'s because of this envy that popstars and celebs are so popular. Not because they\'re good, but because people are just too damned lazy to face anything about themselves. People are too lazy to carve their own names into the proverbial \'old block\' of life.

Anyway WindRider~, while I agree with a lot of your points, about how all those pop stars need to stop being stupid, and stay off the air, and stop making money cuz god knows they have enough, I think that their existence is necessary in order for other people to live out their lives in a manner that would be...enjoyable. so that other people in their lives would have a goal to achieve.

Honestly, you wouldn\'t strive for something if you didn\'t know it was there....now would you?

Brittany Spears, I heard that when she did her music video of Oops I did it again, she slipped on one of her stunts, and sliced her head open on a sharp object nearby. She had to have alot of stitches. The stiches were so dark that it stuck out like a sore thumb in her blonde hair, and she had to dye it brown..:lol:

And being a celebrity is kinda like having power. You either use it or abuse it. The ones who abuse it, suck, and usually just like attention.

But say, if Doc or Breakman or Necro became celebrities, they wouldn\'t abuse their celeb power. ;D

Have you actually met a celebrity? Have you actually met more than one? They are not all the same, and should not be classified together as all the same. Please tell me why if celebrities are money mounching losers that alot of them donate and raise alot of money for charities?



You\'re generalizing far more than you should in these paragraphs. You might impress some people with your thesis that you came up with, but honestly it appears as a half assed attempt to sound like an intellectual to me. You haven\'t shown any signs of consideration of those different than who you described. The statements made by you are far too general. You speak as if every celeb got their break the same way, and as if everyone who is fascinated by them is the same. Not everyone is the same and you can not speak about everyone like they are. It\'s completely ignorant.

Now, at the same time I\'m not saying what you said is untrue. It is in some cases but one really should consider other possibilities of how people got where they are and why people are fascinated with them. And if one is unwilling to do that they should at least make an effort to make their statement less broad.



These statements really just show an intolerance to tastes that aren\'t your own. Celebrities aren\'t stupid by being on television and making money just because it doesn\'t appeal to you; however that thought pattern is narrowminded. If you don\'t like them, you have the power to ignore them.

Thesis is the subject, so therefor the it must be refering to thesis. I said the thesis was a half assed attempt, not you are. I don\'t think you have a low intellectual capactiy, because you\'ve already shown before that you don\'t.



Way to contradict yourself. Having a stereotypical view towards a group or persons shows bias and cannot be impartial. My post wasn\'t an attempt to attack you, but instead to point out the problem with it. You\'re a smart guy, but expanding your mind beyond your stereotypical views would really help you out.

I can\'t see why their actions would be so much a problem unless they personally go to your house and force you to watch their actions.

Hmm. True, making money from the dead is truely sick, but I\'ve never heared the song, nor is it even broadcast over here on the radio, so I\'m findingmyself unable to comment on it. What I will say, is that some people have genuinly good reasons for loathing some celebs. For example, Michael Jackson is poediphile and raped many minors (all of them boys).
