Alright, Mega Man Anniversary Collection is going to come out sooner or later, and I\'m planning to blow $100 on it. So, I\'ve heard it\'s for both the PS2 and the Cube.
I have both.
Can anyone tell me any major differences between the two?
Also, I heard there\'s going to be one for the GBA, but I doubt it\'ll be as \"Advanced\" as the others. (punches self for corny joke) Can anyone give me specifics on the differences?

Curse Capcom for giving confusing titles to their games. Allow me to describe the differences:

Mega Man Anniversary Collection for GameCube and Playstation 2:
- Features the Rockman Complete Works versions of Mega Man 1 to 6, along with Mega Man 7, 8, and the two arcade games
- The GameCube version has an interview with Keiji Inafune and details on the \"history of Mega Man\".
- The Playstation 2 version features some footage from the american cartoon. I don\'t know if these are full episodes, or samples.

Mega Man Anniversary Collection for GameBoy Advance (previously called Mega Man Mania):
- It\'s a completely different game than the PS2 and GC version
- Features the original GameBoy games Mega Man I to V, in both original black & white and color modes
- Details about the \"history of Mega Man\"

What they all appear to have:
- Artwork from the various games

Thanks. I\'ve pretty much decided I won\'t get the GBA version. I\'ll most likely end up buying GC version, cause I\'m interested in the history. That\'s mostly the reason I\'d buy the Anniversary edition in the first place.

The \"violin factory\" part is an expression to mean that Dr. Light got rid of Tango. Some people like to say that cats are used to make violins. :)

All I\'m hoping now is that people don\'t do the mistake of thinking that the GC/PS2 versions of the game are the same as the GBA version. It should have kept the name \"Mega Man Mania\"...

It\'s the first episode, and yes, it\'s complete. ^_^

Anyways, I\'ve been wanting to talk about the Anniversary collection ever since I posted at the GBA thread. I have the PS2 version and I\'d like to dish out some criticism about it if anyone cares to listen.

As can be expected, this will be about the \"Navi\" mode, which allows players to listen to remixed themes as they venture through the stages, and receive in-game hints at various parts throughout the game stages.

1. The first thing that struck me as a negative point was the fact that not ALL the stages had remixed themes. Granted, a great portion of them have been done, but the few that weren\'t remixed were most often the ones I had been hoping WOULD be. IE, SnakeMan, FireMan...

2. MagnetMan gets a remix. But instead, it\'s CloudMan\'s theme. Yes, it is a good tune, but if I\'m going into MagnetMan\'s stage, I\'d very much like to hear MAGNETMAN\'S theme... Not CloudMan\'s from several years into the future.

3. Perhaps the most annoying thing I can think of right now was the occasional phrase, \"Use the weakness weapon\". Whenever you get into that little hallway just before the Robot Master room, you\'ll get a hint. And usually, this would be a great place to put in a hint as to what weapon to use in the upcoming battle. But all-too-often, I, instead, got something like, \"Hmm, this one seems tough. Use the weakness weapon!\".

... Now WHAT ON EARTH does THAT imply! I mean, it\'s BLINDINGLY obvioius that I should use the weapon that deals the most damage... But how on EARTH does that help me figure out what it is!? Granted, I already know all the weaknesses. But somebody who DOESN\'T will find this rediculously annoying. I think Capcom could have done a tad better on this.

4. Occasionally, some hints will be incorrect. Not a lot, but then again, should ANY of them be?

5. I find it strange that RockMan and Forte is not included in the collection.


Now, before you say anything, I want to point out that I\'m EXTREMELY fond of this anniversary collection. And that I wouldn\'t trade it in for a gold statue of myself, if given the chance. It\'s a great thing to have and just being able to play through the old games that you\'ve never seen before is reason enough to get it. I\'m just pointing out the VERY few things that I didn\'t find all-too well-done as I played.

Now, if I could change anything, I guess it would be the sprites. I think it would\'ve been a splendid idea on Capcom\'s part to completely re-make all the NES sprites specifically for Navi-mode. So that, not only would the stages SOUND different, but look different as well. And I guess it\'d be neat if Capcom secretly hid a \"MegaMan-9\" in there somewhere.

Wait, what?! That thing was kept from the Complete Works release of a few years ago? What some other people told me is that the PS2 version had fully remixed music, including the various songs that weren\'t done a few years ago. Now you\'re telling me that some songs are missing, along with a few being put in the wrong levels, just like in the Complete Works... Does that mean that Top Man\'s remixed theme happens to be the Mega Man 7 intro stage theme as well?

Simple: Rockman & Forte / Mega Man & Bass came out on GBA a year or two ago. ;) Capcom is trying to maximize their profits. It would have been nice to have included this game though, so the package would have been much more complete.

Sadly, yes. And I say sadly, because TopMan had one of my favorite themes. I was hoping to see it remixed, as well.
