I\'ve had this problem ever since I saw Bass for the first time. I have to admit that I have absolutely no idea whatsoever how the ridges on Bass\'s helmet \'work\'. I kinda understand how they go back and originate from a point on his forehead but I don\'t know what happens at the back of his head.

I\'ve looked at a lot of Bass head pics and I\'ve concluded that I need a 3d rendering of his head that I can rotate or a physical model of some sort (possibly an action figure or a doll) to help me fully understand what\'s going on with those fins.

If you can help explain or if you have this problem too, feel free to reply.

I can\'t draw Bass\' helmet right, either..even though I know how it works.

See..the two fins start near the jewel on his forehead, opposite sides. They curve out, and are kinda like... Well, you know those Mickey Mouse hats they have at Disneyland? They\'re like that, a curved cuplike shape.

Look at a spritesheet of Bass from Rockman and Forte, especially of him climbing a ladder, and you\'ll be able to understand his helmet better. If you can\'t find the sheet, I can just upload it somewhere and link.

Yeah, but the Battle Network Bass`s head fins are a reference to the Fishy viruses. Get the Network Transmission guide by Brady Games, then go the Bass boss info, a picture will say the rest! <gets a vanilla and chocolate milkshake.>

Okay, Doc, my spam-free talk: Bass has blonde hair, a couple of Capcom\'s art shows Bass without the helmet, and he has blonde hair, though I don\'t recomend calling him a dumb blonde, since he\'ll kill you, especially if you\'re MegaMan.

You brought up the hair thing, not me.

Check a sprite sheet of Bass from Rockman & Forte, but look at his teleport animation, step-by-step, the \"fins\" start as ridges, or lumps, and extend back, making a sharp curve. Or, they make Bass intiminating, making it saying \"Hey, Crapface! You\'re strong! Lets fight!\" kind of thing, in reality, there are animals with various head-gear, lets take a rhino for an example: their horns make a prime example of Bass\'s fins, they make them strong and, kinda when they ramming a enemy, and the loser has weak head-gear. Did that help, Pocket?

That is a good idea, or if you are never successful in finding out what the back of Bass\'s head looks like just imagine it anyway you want it to be. Otherwise my opinion is, that his fin thingies continue outward (not towards each other)
