I just recently went to gamestop and bought the original Metroid game. I broke out the old nintendo, smacked it a couple of times to make it work, and played it. I never knew the joy of a really good old school game(too young). Any thoughts?

Marios Bros. I knew the short cut to world 8 in less than 10 mins, yet I could never get to the last level! World 8 is HARD!

Blaster Master! Fun! Gotta love it.

Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy, all those good ol\' games. I still have the NES in my room! If i\'m really bored, I just turn it on, and play some games. I have that ol\' SNES in my room too.

The levels I could never beat, the ones that took hours to beat...... Those were the good ol\' days.... I have to admit....

Ah yes. Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy were very good. I still play the NES. BUt I\'m surprised none of you mentioned Megaman 1-6... I\'m disappointed. Very great games though. Also, did someone not say this earlier? Were\'re talking about the NES not the N64... *sigh*

Allow me to clear this up, this is a topic about the NES not the N64.

Anyway I am only 14 so i was more the SNES and N64 generation but most old games are 8 times better than most things they have nowadays. Games now worry more about graphics than actual gameplay, and that sucks. Therefore I love the NES. Unluckily for me my old NES doesn\'t work well so I don\'t play it much, and I am dissapointed than no one mentioned Duck Hunt. That game brought me many hours of fun, even when I was five. I once went to my friends house and brought my NES, he was pissed because I didn\'t bring my PS2. But as soon as he got his hands on Duck Hunt, he didn\'t want me to leave. Duck Hunt is a classic that will never die.

EDIT: Also, did anyone ever have the NES advantage joystick controller? I have it, tis awesome.

Ah Galaga, one of my favorite games ever. I recently bought Namco Museum and it not only has Galaga but a digital Galaga arrangement which is quite good. As well as Pac-man, its arrangement, Dig Dug, its arrangement, pole position, pole position 2, Galaxian, and Ms. Pac-Man. I suggest it to all people who like classic games.

EDIT:It also has two locked games, Pac Attack and Pac Mania. Not sure what those are yet.

There are way too many good games to count :) My NES is still plugged to the TV and ready to go in seconds. If I had to name a favorite game, that would be Kirby\'s Adventure. I\'ve played that one for many hours.

Heh, anyone remember that little robot that you could use with your NES?

Ah, of course you mean ROB (Robotic Operated Buddy) I never had it, or played with it, but I hear that it didn\'t work very well. You would do some hand motions, if I remember correctly, and the robot would press the buttons on the controller. Interesting concept, but not very effective.

Mario rocked. Im not sure if this is still true but my brother would alway scare me by telling me that there was a ghost that followed you every level and if you waited to long you would get killed by him.

Arg... That doesn\'t exist in Mario games, but there was indeed a ghost in Bubble Bobble who was trying to get you if you spent too much time in a level. That\'s no good for the stress level!

I haven\'t owned an NES, but I\'ve played so many tiny demos of the games (WarioWare:Mega MicroGames-9-Volt) I feel like I\'ve played the full version. I have played Metroid:Zero Mission and tried the NES version of Metroid, but that was hard. The killer is that the original Metroid is harder than Metroid:Zero Mission,

Spoiler (click to toggle)
even though it has that extra bit at the end where you go into the Space Pirates\' Mothership to get your power suit back after it was destroyed in the ship crash.
Mario Bros. on M&L:SS was pretty hard too. I guess I will never know the meaning of fun \'til I get an NES.
