Is it possible to actually defeat the Cyclops boss somewhere at the end of MM1?? I have tried at least over 30 times (seriously) and still no luck. If there is something that I am missing please tell me! I HAVE TO FINISH THIS ONE!

I know that his weakness is the Electric thingy and I can just dodge the flying blocks.

Well, I always use the trick with the select-key to defeat him. Otherwise, he\'s near impossible (couldn\'t do it).

Use the Elec beam and practice your dodging skills.

As for the select thing pause the game when that weapon hits the eye and unpause when the eye stops flashing.

The sibling has killed the Rock Monster without cheating before...heh. But I\'ve never gotten to the Rock Monster..so I dunno how to deal with him. =(

Same here. Rock Monster sounds too lame. And I agree with Punk; It never hurts to practice your dodging skills and here\'s a good tip: Note down the sequence that the blocks come at you and scale their height from 1 to 4 (With 1 being the lowest and 4 being the highest). Hey, it sounds like homework, but it works for me:cool:

Basically as what was said earlier, dodging and jumping timing are the key.I just had to work on that against him a few times, then came back and beat him with just using elec mans weapon(not using the pause cheat)

The load state button is a saviour!

save\\load state is a pure cheating, you are allowed to save with states only when the game allows it....

Heh, I know that, but if that wern\'t there then I would have to play that stage over and over, then it would become tedious for me and I will lose intrest in playing the game.

That's right... the save state is just another tool to help you enjoy those emulated games... It's awful frustrating sometimes when you lose and have to trek the old path to again fight the damn boss... OH MY GOD, I SAID SOMETHING THAT ACTUALLY MADE SENSE!!!:eek:

hey, hey... I played ALL the cartridges...I took detailed notes on everything I saw...I practiced hard till I got good at it! I\'ts just that when my Famicom broke down, I needed to play the emus to keep me sharp, but don\'t get me wrong: I hardly use the savestate option, and I can still beat the Yellow Devil in RM without ever dying and/or using the Thunder beam anytime!!!:cool:

That\'s because the boss in X5 is easier to beat than the one in RM1, what with the new upgrades and all... this topic is regarding the latter(correct me if I\'m wrong, Rush.) and how difficult it is to beat.

I was born in the exact same year as it was released I think. And by the time I had heard of Mega Man no one had the copy for me to play and I havn\'t seen it anywhere in the shops either.
