I severely doubt that Nintendo will sell itself.. They\'ve been very successful, and, stop ragging on Microsoft\'s ability to create games.. any of you folks ever hear of/play Halo? or.. are you all to uptight in your \'Microsoft sucks\' stigma?

Halo was being created /before/ Microsoft bought the company. It was supposed to be released for PC but MS bought the company out and it came out on X-Box instead. I know a lot of gamers were severely bitching about this because they were waiting for it.

ooooh.. I hadn\'t heard that.. regardless.. the X-Box has done well enough to establish itself as a noteworthy console.. I doubt it will suffer the Dreamcast-Syndrome, fading quickly into oblivion. I personally have all three major consoles, and I think they all have their good points.. Microsoft can\'t be doing too bad, because, the X-box has a lot of award-winning titles.. =3

just because MS offered to buy (if they did, and I highly doubt it), doesn\'t mean we have to get uptight. think of it this way: Even if Gates makes the offer, even if Nintendo considers and accepts, and even though Microsoft already has a console, Gates still wouldn\'t be dumb enough to kill off series like Megaman, Mario, or Zelda. He\'d probably hire the makers of these games, realizing that without their abilities the games would lose the uniqueness that comes from their experiences reflected into it. To insure that people would continue buying the games, he\'d need to keep the programmers, story writers, etc. on board so that the entire thing isn\'t a collossal (sp?) waste of money!

By the way: I don\'t exactly like Gates either, but we all would be kissing the ground he walked on if he were here. Just remember that, and the golden rule;

Well Mega X, I give Gates alot of hate because of the way he does business. He never had an original idea in his life, he\'s constantly ripping people off and buying out companies, turning them to crap. Plus he made Windows. But here, I\'ll make you happy. Kiryu is a sexist.

Little tip I felt I should include; If you type the words Gamecube or Playstation into Microsoft Word on any of the resent Windows computers I won\'t recognize it as a word, but type in X-Box and yup... it\'s a word. Sneaky Gates

Microsoft tends to buy companies out like they did with Rare and Bungie. Any respect I had for them disappeared. (Not like I had much to start with...)

You don\'t buy companies out just so you can have games on consoles, you make deals with them. What\'s so wrong about making deals?

Plus, Microsoft pretends that their OSes are perfect even though there\'s always constant trouble with lamers, viruses, trojans.... etc! They\'re realizing there\'s problems too late and releasing the security patches rather too slow.

Maybe the hate is directed at Bill Gates because he started Microsoft, so most of the problems could be his fault? Maybe? Maybe not!

Bill Gates actually has a pretty good business strategy. Buy out all the competition.

Now, \"good\" doesn\'t mean it\'s not morally objectionable, because it is. Just like with Wal-mart. Once they move into a new area, they have extremely low prices. This drives out the competition, and makes smaller stores bankrupt or close down. After all the competition is gone, Wal-mart can set prices as high as they need to..and they usually do. No need to have low prices anymore, customers are forced to shop at Wal-mart regardless..

Also too, Microsoft isn\'t deemed as a monopoly by the US government for some reason or another.. That\'s another thing that steams my broccoli.

And Gutter, it\'s not neccessarily the fact that he\'s rich, that makes people hate him.. It\'s just that some rich people are also power hungry, which seemingly he is, since he buys out so many other companies. And I do not like power hungry people.

Now, do you all hate him because of Windows? Don\'t. Same with AOL. I hate AOL, but I don\'t hate the guy who made it.

It was invented by government researchers and university researchers. They were trying to figure out a system of computers that could communicate in case something happened.

The internet as we know... it was born in 1983.

From what I heard, he was misquoted and his role was probably only to push the funding for it or something... I\'m betting it was really insignficant role. (After all, I did mention that there were government researchers included.)

Then from there, there would be other versions... and some computer companies would eventually die out.

But yes, it was Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98... etc...

Because it\'s the most common used program, that\'s why Microsoft makes a lot of money. (Note: Monopoly!)

The average user wouldn\'t know of the alternatives other than Apple. x_o Those alternatives are: Linux, Unix, and others. ^^;
