Uh, hey guys. I watched a documentery dubbed \"T-Rex: Warrior or Wimp?\" on the Discovery Channel, (god bless Discovery Channel and Animal Planet) and I made, THIS poll, about T-Rex, vote, and spazz ideas on T-Rex\'s hunter or scavenger idea.

Oh boy. It\'s not wise to get me started on any topic dealing with dinosaurs.

For one, I personally despise Discovery Channel\'s take on dinosaurs ever since they could afford CG effects.

RAPTORS DID NOT HAVE RED FEATHERS ALL OVER THEIR BODIES, DAMMIT.

They\'re obviously too scared to put feathers on a Tyrannosaurus. People love Tyrannosaurs, they\'d get hate mail if they put feathers on them.

But anyways. I don\'t believe Tyrannosaurs would have giant steak knife-esque teeth for scavenging. If YOU were that big, with that big of teeth..would you be waiting until a pack of smaller carnivores killed something, then chase them away to eat their meal?

I know I wouldn\'t. I\'d wait until they killed something, then I\'d kill and eat them AND their meal.

I\'m not gonna call a T-rex a wimp after killing the Black Tyrano, watching it get hit by a spacerock/parasitic sentient being, waiting 65 million+ years and fighting again as Rust Tyrano in Chrono Trigger.

Am I right in assuming you mean the big slab with a fossil skeleton on it from China. The one (or one of many, actually) of two seperate skeletons glued together?:lol: As I said, I wouldn\'t be surprised if that was just one of many incidents very similar. Can\'t blame \'em for trying, right? Had the American dinosaur experts fooled for a while though!:lol: Bet they made a pretty penny selling it to them, though, before it was properly anylized.:P

There ARE some dinosaurs with feathers. Archaeopteryx is probably the most famous of the feathered.

But..Archaeopteryx ISN\'T a Velociraptor. Discovery has raptors running around with feathers and it pisses me off.

I think T-Rex was an opportunist.. He would kill when the chance arose, but also steal kills when it was convenient.. Bald Eagles scavenge quite a bit, as well. I had one swoop down in front of my car, and grab a roadkill rabbit. This doesn\'t mean an animal isn\'t fearsome, or capable of hunting for itself.. it\'s just a convenience.

As for the raptors.. I really don\'t like the full-body feathers. I agree more with Jurassic Park III\'s raptors, with the little feather crests on their head. This is partly because I believe that birds could have evolved from dinosaurs. I don\'t like the feather coloring, but I do like the use of bright colors... If birds DID come from dinosaurs.. then.. does it not seem reasonable that some dinosaurs would have behaved, and looked, at least somewhat like birds? Many birds (especially males) use bright colors and vivid patterns to attract a mate, so, this makes sense to me. =p

On topic: Don\'t really know much about dinosaurs... But I have to say, the T-Rex is pretty cool lookin\'. It\'s kinda hard to believe it would be wimpy... Though the tiny arms don\'t look very... \"Warrior-ish\".

But anyways, I still won\'t believe the \'evolved to birds\' theory unless they do give concrete evidence. They have Archaeopteryx, sure. But what did he evolve from? Pterodactyls (which aren\'t classified as dinosaurs anyway), carnivores, omnivores, weird little lizards..

No one knows, so I don\'t believe the bird theory. They found some type of dinosaur heart awhile ago, proving they didn\'t have a heart like an alligator or many of the lizard species.. But bah, dinosaurs were their own thing. Makes sense they wouldn\'t have a heart like a lizard.

Oh, and Kiryu, it\'s not Brontosaurus, it\'s Apatosaurus. There is no Brontosaurus.

Actually Hollow, it used Brontosaurus, it\'s Apatasaurus now though.

Actually, Mega X, it\'s always been Apatosaurus.

They found Apato first, then found another Apato skeleton later on..not a full one though. They immediately announced \"ooh, another new dinosaur!\" and had people gawk over it..they called it \"Brontosaurus\".

Years later (don\'t remember how many), they finally realized that this skeleton was just a regular ol Apatosaur skeleton. So there was never a true Brontosaurus in the first place.

But usually, the Bronto name is preferred over Apato for children\'s literature, toys, and even textbooks... Who the hell knows why.

I think they changed it only a few years ago. I remembered, that one day it was Bronto, then when I went to school the next day, it had become Apata...again.

Just goes to show that scientists can be a little...eager

I dunno, a Tyrannosaur, if approached by a pack of smaller carnivores, could really get hurt bad and die from the wounds. But I doubt anything bothered Tyrannosaurs.

i think the t-rexes were wimps! cuz how can you hunt w/just your mouth, you can probably do it, but itd be JUST A LITTLE HARD! well anyways, i dont know for sure, since many scientist say that he was a scavinger, since he couldnt hunt and run at the same time with his small arms, but theres 1 thing to give him some ballance..... HIS TAIL!!!

Right, but Tyrannosaurs are large, and the pack of carnivores are small and quick. Plus, there\'s strength in numbers.. PLUS, if the small carni\'s are Raptors or Deinos, and they have those big toe claws..liable to split a Tyrannosaur open.

That\'s why evoloution didn\'t favor Rex\'s. With Ak-47\'s however...

I think that T-Rex\'s ancsestors (sp?), like Nanotyrannus, Gorgosaurus, Tarbosaurus, and Albertosaurus were warriors, mainly Nanotyrannus, it was smaller than the rest of the tyrannosaurs, so it was faster, and the arms were slightly longer.
