i have heard it from a friend of mine who lived in singapore, and i want a link to a site that has the story in better detail.

im sure im not the only one on this boar who has heard this but for the people who HAVENT i will give a rough summary

so one time on this highway a family was driving on it and were suddenly stoped due to engine truobles or somthing.
so the father went outside to check it out and the mother couldent see him (because the hood was up) so after a while some police drove by and looked very shocked as they passed.
they drove quite a ways before they stoped and called to the woman \"get out of the car and come this way!!!\".
so the woman did so (while taking her children of course) and while she was walking the police called to her \"dont look back!!!\" so she was curiouse and had just remembered about her husband so she looked back

the next part is a little um... descriptive so i advise younger members not to read this part

so ya, pretty scary and i want to know the actuall story so ya.

the definition for Pontianak

This is perhaps the most frightening of all ghosts and ghouls of South East Asia. It is said that the pontianak is the spirit of a woman who died of childbirth. Sometimes she can look very beautiful, but most of the time she has razor teeth and stalks the night in search for men or pregnant women (it is said she could not bear the thought of other women being able to enjoy motherhood)to suck blood from (sometimes eat the flesh of babies ripped out from their mothers). There are many stories of the pontianak, but perhaps the scariest is the one which happened on the Malaysian highway.

Anyways, I didn\'t really think that story was very scary (but then again, I\'m a guy who spent almost his entire childhood reading ghost stories and watching horror movies. Kinda keeps you from getting scared by mere stories). At any rate, it\'s amazing (although in this case I\'d call it disturbing) what kind of creatures people came up with to tell stories about.

That story scared you that much? Man, I must really have been desensitized by all those horror movies as a kid. I wasn\'t fazed at all by it. No lost sleep or anything.
