I started to make a post on this earlier but half way through I desided not to.... I had nothing much to contribute. *Shrug* But I seem to have become accustom that when Kiyru said my name I had to spat at him and re-tell him the rules over and over. This time I\'m just saying I\'d rather see a word and see something like, \"K*****\" and I have to sit there for half an hour and still not figure out what the hell your calling me.

Face it, you use odd words, most arn\'t even normally used as a threat... so eh... I don\'t care use the little stars if you want... I don\'t give a damn anymore.

As to my own thoughts, I think curse words are fine. Their just flippin\' words, but I suppose a lot of you don\'t see it my way, and I don\'t understand that really.... but eh, I don\'t understand a lot of things these days. >.O

The only bad way to use a word is in a degrative fashion. Otherwise I think them words can show a lot better;

A) Emotion, as ShadowFire was saying.
B) To make things slightly funnnier, as in reference to Necro\'s sig.

I censor myself to an extent for all the youngans here, I prolly curse a lot more off the computer, and I guess if people care that much ... em... whatever >.> Lost my train of thought

Still just don\'t flip out everytime you hear/read a word. You will hear these words quite a bit later in your life, get use to them.

frankly, my dear, I don\'t give a damn, why? simple; the corny factor; for instance,it\'s like Megaman Masta said, nobody says \" oh poopy, I forgot to blow out the candles before I left the house, so now it\'s gonna burn to the ground. Oh well; life\'s a female dog.\" that\'s just being G-rated. in other words I don\'t say cursing is something you should do all the time. But still, If you want to use adult language, at least go easy on it k\'?

Well, you could say \"I fell in Wily\'s spike trap!\" just as easily as you can say \"Oh my f***ing God! I fell in Dr. f***ing Wily\'s g****mn f***ing spike trap!\". I mean, I admit that cursing slips out, but that doesn\'t mean it\'s ok...

Necro, I got a news-flash: Your mood has a swear (and a flame) in it!!!!!

Kiryu, I got a news-flash: Necro\'s mood has a quote from Kill Bill in it, therefore it\'s not a flame, and even if it is a swear he\'s better than you and has the right to use it so hahahahaha!!!!!

I \'curse\' all the time, and completely agree with Kia\'s statement there. I try to replace \"the f word\" with truck, but I usually leave everything else alone. Really, there\'s 8th graders worse than I am when it comes to swearing, kiddies. If you haven\'t heard it yet, you will.

Edit: This reminds me of the Simpsons.. Bart says something like \"Hot damn!\" and Homer replies \"Bart, no swearing, you\'re not at school!\"

Meh. I seem to recall several of Kiryu\'s arguements in which he cursed or censor-cursed, to which the general response was a sarcastic \"Oooh, grown-up words!\". Really, it\'s not so much the word itself that bothers people, it\'s the fact that it\'s over-used or used in conjunction with a great insult.

However, a learned man may always find interesting ways to express himself...

Most of my posts are directed to (constant) spammers and rule breakers. Only once I cursed. If I see a curse word in my post, that tells me that I have to revise my post.

How do I feel when most of my posts here consists \"Stop doing this\", \"Go read the rules now\", and \"I am warning you\"? Kinda irritated (especially angry when its a repeated offense by one member). I usually try to hide my anger or rephrase my post into something not offensive; because, fighting \"fire with fire\" isn\'t the right way to solve things... What can I say? It\'s hard work and time consuming, but hey, I get some type of respect from it. *shrugs*

Uhm... I think that is it that I wanted to say.

Hollow, being a weird-man (and laughing like a pie-hater) is just, plain, wrong..........

Still, if we need a swear censor, we should use this.......

\"OH, GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!\"

Use it, its funny. I guess these stars go bye-bye!

Now, who can actually give a \"OH, GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!\" about it?

I do.

Swearing needs to be censored......

But I guess Cosscak won\'t use that swear-censor I made up............

But, its gonna be brighter than \"OH, GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!\" out here with a finley-crafted swear-censor........

What do you mean 8th? Don\'t you mean 7th? That grade seems like a sort of trigger to start cursing. For my friends, it was like this:
6th Grade: No swearing. Just \"darn\" and stuff like that.
7th Grade: Swearing like they had done if for years.
You get my point? Jr. High/Middle School changes people.

Perhaps it\'s the sudden testosterone rush? There\'s actual evidence that testosterone changes the way the brain thinks, enough so that it could filter out certain inhibitions that kids once had, and make them feel more \'natural\' about the things they used to avoid.

Yeah... or, it could just be that when kids are in middle school, their peers aren\'t such babies about it. If it weren\'t for the fact that you stood a really good chance of getting caught saying curse words in elementary school, you would have said them. Almost guaranteed. Kids learn to grow up when they get into middle school, and part of growing up is tolerance of foul language, idiotic people, and the rest of the world in general. You just sort of \"get over it\" in middle school.

Or maybe the human race\'s hormones are reeeeaaaally consistant. I dunno.

I\'ve heard massive swearing from maybe the 6th grade up. It\'s nothing really new to me. I\'d really like to get across the point that there is no practical use of swearing. Any use of swearing, therefore, is an entirely malrelated practice. There is no use of swearing where a simple statement would not be more appropriate...

I mean, I can understand if one slides every now and then. Still, that doesn\'t mean we can excuse it as being a common, inevitable thing. Just exercise some self-control people and we won\'t have to have this discussion.:D

Personally, I don\'t see why swearing is so bad. I mean, it\'s not like the CO2 forming the word will harden into a hammer and bop whoever it\'s directed at on the head.

I think it is a waste of time to teach kids the same old \"swearing is bad\" doctrine over and over. I think teaching them the necessity of bringing in extra accents/expessions to their words (e.g. \"you don\'t need to use these expressions to make your points even more clear, without them I might understand it even more\") and the meaning and effects of all those swear words would suffice.

I wouldn\'t mind if people start running around swearing over here as long as they can make themselves clear enough.

And if some people start yelling over some simple swear words I would consider it as their problem getting along with it. :P

You know, if no one tried to expand his own vocabulary, we may end up in a bad situation. For one thing, over time, television and movies would get LAAAAME. Everyone would say the same things over and over again from movie to movie without a vocabulary.

Dead to Rights: I\'ll kill you.
Star Wars: I\'ll kill you.
Kill Bill: I\'ll kill you.

And so forth. Wouldn\'t that be boring? Furthermore, certain words may even be lost. I know absolutely nobody would use, let alone understand some of my favorite words (melachony and stereotype, for instance). And, as I said, when you curse you\'re simply saying something in a bad way that could be said in a term that everyone accepts. It\'s moreso a lack of tolerence and a falling in to temptation than anything.

Well in alot of places you can hear or see Swearing, but this topic should be closed cause even if there was a rule about swearing the dumb kind of people will just swear anyways and get them selfs kicked out of the forum,if they are stupid enough not to listen to the rules, then if i was a mod i would kick them out.SOOOO,the rules are rules, and just pretend, people who swear should just hit their heads on their keyboards and just join another forum, that lets you swear and never come back here again, thats if in the future there is a rule about swearing.

Personally, I don\'t believe swearing is bad, it is just when someone uses it in a sentence more than three times, especially the same word.
\"The f****n dog took a f****n s**t in my f****n shoe.\" The first one i could have dealt with, but the others are just too extreme. If you happen to say it, and not mean to hurt anyone, I believe thats ok, once or twice. But if you mean to hurt someone\'s feelings, the should just stick to \"Yo Mama\" jokes.

ya people shouldnt swear on the boards because of the little children.

U should only get banned for swearing if ure flaming.

For example:F**k U MOTHERF*C*E*!!!

But if it doesnt consider flaming, it isnt that all bad.

I think that the swearig greatly depends on the topic itself. For example, there are many adult centred topics that, even without the swearing, for example. Staying up late. Do you really hink a minor should be really boasting about how late they stay up? Many of the topics you can find would be unappropriate. What next? \"How many times have you tried to commit suicide - BTW, NO NOT SAY BUGGER AT ALL COSTS\"?
