Balance of light and dark...

Don\'t you mean yin and yang?

Yes, the balancing of light and dark (good and evil) is the basic concept of ying and yang. One\'s good, one\'s bad (can\'t remember which is which), but you need both to lead a full life. However, I think people should lean towards the light and stay out of the dark as much as possible, unless you have a flashlight (bad joke -. -; )

Everyone has darkness and Light within them, always lean toward the Light. Hitler may have been good but became evil, this is what you get by leaning toward the darkness, you get consumed by evil.

I say this light/dark, black/white, on/off, yin/yang, whatever/not-whatever should be not applied in every situation.

Lets say some stereo amplifier has an on/off switch and a volume controller. To explain how an on/off button works the so called black/white approach would be sufficient. When it comes for a volume controller, the black/white approach would only suffice for the sound/no-sound situation. When it comes to the louder/softer aspect of the volume control, the black/white approach wouldn\'t be sufficient for defining something absolute that everyone agrees with, since everyone has a different view on the loud or soft situation.

And so there\'s using dimensions to define situations.

that\'s how I see things in life.

so all you would have to do in different situations is do this

more white (yin) or more dark (yang)

You guys have it backwards, Yang is the postitive good force, Yin is the bad one.

Anyways, seeing things just in black and white, no grey in between, can be pretty bad. In fact, I have a Yu Yu Hakusho reference that goes with this. Since I\'m not sure if the episode this is in has aired yet, I\'ll put it in a spoiler:

That\'s right. It also leads to such things as ethnic and religous intolerence, such as a religion leading attacks on others because they do not believe the same things.

truth be told, you shouldn\'t always lean to light; this is a balance, therefor there MUST be good and there MUST be evil in everyone. if there is too much of either extreme, life will become a living ****. even if it was light overpowering dark. Every day would hold the exact same things day in day out, even the best day of your life would drive you insane! see my point?:)+:devil:=:D
