He may be the same person, or a different one. I would certainly hope not, though, seeing how badly he affected that site. I heard they\'re not even letting people sign up on their own any more...

*cough*backontopic*cough*

Anyways, I could recomend So You Want to Learn Japanese..., but if you\'ve really got your heart set on it, I would go instead to AnimeWorld. Just suggestions, though!

Hollow\'s got a point there.

Anyways, classes for Japanese can be hard to find, and sometimes expensive college classes are the only options. Then, internet stuff isn\'t always accurate and there\'s always the chance someone made a mistake typing something.

As for myself, I am (very) slowly teaching myself by watching anime in Japanese. I keep a list of every word I figure out, and so far I have a hundred or two. However, I\'m a far cry from figuring the language out completely.

Look, I don\'t know how big the metropolis you live in is, but most schools don\'t offer Japanese as a course. Let me tell you, if mine did, you know what I\'d be taking. As for out-of-school courses, I don\'t think one exists in my STATE. Some things can\'t be handled so easily.
Hey, kid. Talk to Zero EXE. She may be able to help you out. Sorry you\'re having trouble.
My friend in a city an hour away from mine gets to take Japanese, but yep here me and Zero are, stuck with either Spanish or French (I\'m taking french and it\'s way fun!), and don\'t get me wrong, one teacher for both courses, a master of three languages, and a chess master to-boot! But I just wanted to say I have sympathy for you and I hope you find a way to take a course. (Careful It\'s difficult!):D

Merci!:P

Nihon-jin difficult? Iie. Link desu ka? Hei!

Heh, yes, that is Japanese. Anyway, yeah, I can help. The language comes second. First, learn Katakana and Hiragana. I found a cool site with a cool program for teaching it. It was in a topic of mine.

Actually, my friend, being taught by someone who is actually Japanese, is learning the language FIRST, with occationsl information on characters. People learn more from speech, so I think that\'s why they teach that first, because verbal communication is important.

Now. How about if that person was deaf, how would you teach that person Japanese, then?

People actually learn the most from Visual aids. More of the brain processes Video than Audio.

No one answered my question so.

(Mega X did come close.)

So, yeah, I\'m the deaf person who learned Japanese just because. I drove the interpreters nuts because they had only worked with french and spanish classes. =P

In high school, one of the interpreters learned with me. (Got an A)

In college, there was an interpreter who had lived in Japan a while. I still did well with the classes.

However, my memory is short-circuiting out on me so I need to practice again. Gah.

Moshi Moshi!
Nihon-go ga heta dusu.

I\'m still learning but I\'d say the easiest way to learn the basics would be to find a travel book for american tourist to japan. I learned that way but I\'m still not fluent.

...actually. Moshi moshi is to be used on phone.

The greetings in person would be: Ohyao Gozaimasu(sp?) for morning, Konnichi Wa (for afternoon and is generally used a lot), Koban wa (for evening.)

...ja mata ne means seeya later. I think this might be used a lot. Sayonara is well, more of used for goodbyes if you\'re not going to see that person for a long time.
