Er, I\'m no board official or anything. And furthermore, I know this has probably been said many times before in better ways. But I just wanted to formally address an issue that\'s plagueing (sp?) our board.

We all realize there\'s many many many different purebread spammers running around. No one\'s denying that. Now, I know how great it feels to be the first to post on a pure spam topic, blast out to the poster that it\'s spam, and promptly request a lock. However, I\'m realizing more and more that this is not the correct thing to do. Instead, I offer you this: It is the moderator\'s duties to delete spam and ban spammers, right? Well, we should also make it our duty not to encourage spammers ourselves (which I\'m probably doing right now). By this I mean, after 1 post has been made to correct one of these pure-blooded spammers, let\'s try to stay quiet until the topic\'s closed or the spammer\'s banned. Furthermore, we should try not to keep on posting in the spammer\'s pure-spam topics after we having requested a stop in the first topic.

I know this is all a little confusing, and I\'m sounding way to serious for a message board, plus I am probably out of line talking about how to run the board, I just thought that it would be a nice gesture towards our moderators.:)

I see what you\'re saying. Only 1 reply to a SPAM thread, that informs them of the SPAM, and informs them you\'ve reported it. The only exception being when a mod locks it.

There is a thing called trying to distinguish people who are not so aware of the rules here from people who intend to spam/flame/troll around the place just because. Don\'t you think only the first kind mentioned should be explained stuff to? And don\'t you think it is pointless to even reply to the last kind mentioned?

Maybe we should drop those who do reply to spammers PM\'s telling them not to do so. Dunno if that would help even a little...

What you\'re supposed to do with a spam topic, is not reply AT ALL and use that little report button. Like say, if it\'s a repeat of a topic we\'ve had a hundred times, say in the little report box \"We\'ve had this topic many times before already\" and one of the mods will look into it. Simple yes?

And yeah, I know I add to the spam when people go \"omg you bumped up a topic!\" and I explain to them why it\'s alright to bump the topic up..but at least most of the time I make a relevant post underneath the explanation. Man have I explained that to alot of people..
