Many gays and/or lesbians(No offence to anyone here...) Were picketing due to the ban on gay marriages. On most signs, it shoowed Spongebob, and on the sign:
\"If children are allowed to see him, why can\'t you see us?!\"

Well, not that this is bothering me in anyway...but this intregues me. Has anyone heard of this news, or have a different story (Mine not might be true...got it off a forum, but I know this happened), or have any opinion? Post here.

I heard that some conservative Christian groups were criticizing the maker\'s pledge for tolerance towards gays in the video.

Now, I\'m not going against gays with this comment. I don\'t support them, but I\'ve learned not to stop them.

If the creator of Spongebob Squarepants says he\'s not gay, HE\'S NOT GAY. It\'s his character, he decides what to do with it. By using the character to endorse homosexuality, they\'re decreasing the show\'s popularity. Eventually, the show goes off, and so does the merchandise. They won\'t be watching it anymore, that\'s for sure.

Bah, I\'m very wandering on the subject, but I don\'t think ANYONE in the show is gay. It\'s just too edgy for cartoons outside of the late night slot (and yes, I know it comes on late at night too, but that\'s for the people who stupidly have to have it gay)...

No one in the show is. Not even Squidward...:rolleyes:

I guess yoai and shonen-ai gets me the same way. If they were intended to be gay, fine. But if the creator of a series says the characters aren\'t gay, THEY AREN\'T.... And yoai\'s just gross.:sick:

Personally I just think its funny that they make SpongeBob out to be gay.. I mean sure he wouldn\'t look totally out of place in a gay bar or whatever..*cough* But if the creator says hes not gay hes not, I checked to be sure, none of the sponges in my bathroom have penis anyway..

The reason spongebob...ahem....acts this way is to appeal to the younger crowd, if you had a show about an uptight, mean dictator sponge, it would go under...horribly

This is so dumb... I think the Bible-beaters are just looking for someone new to pick on. I\'m Christian.. and I think Spongebob is fine.. Besides, sponges are hermaphroditic.. they have both sets of sexual organs, and can reproduce asexually via budding. As for Spongebob... he\'s not gay.. just childlike and naive. He\'s a very positive person. Being a positive, optimistic person does not make one gay. Besides, Spongebob teaches a lot of important values, like friendship, and valuing friends and family over money and material gain. Maybe these overly-conservative folk should stop beating their Bibles, and start reading them... Spongebob and the Bible both preach a lot of the same lessons.

The only reason that the particular person that used that sign put up SpongeBob on their poster may be for the sheer fact that they may have something against Spongy.

Besides, SpongeBob and the others are probably a bit too stupid to know what being \'gay\' or a \'homosexual\' is. (Except for the squirrel, she is pretty smart. ^_^)

Spongebob isn\'t gay, just hyperactive and nieve. More proof that he isn\'t gay is that he tried to \"impress\" Sandy on many occasions. And out of all the homosexual people I know (which is quite a few) none act like that.
