If theres a topic about Yu-gi-oh!, why wouldnt a topic about the father of the TCGs? nWe can discuss about all those cool combos, strategyies, sets( Ninth edition core set on July!) and stuff.

I´ll start by myself, I guess someone of you might have went to the pre-release tournament of Betrayers of Kamigawa right? well, Im going to the release tournament and I´ve only been on booster drafts, and this one will be on sealed Deck format, I still dont know if the sideboard will be allowed so, can you give me any advice on building a sealed deck?

PD Im using 1 tournament pack and 3 booster packs

I am using a tweaked version of the Mirridon\'s SunBurst deck. It consists of all the colors but the ability is thus:

Sunburst (This creature comes into play with a +1/+1 counter for each different type of mana used to pay for its cost.) Meaning, if the creature is a 2/2 and it takes 5 mana to play it, if you used one of each color(Swamp, Island, Mountain, Forest, & Plains), It would come into play with 5 +1/+1 counters on it, thus making it a 7/7. Of course, with it being mostly artifacts, it does have its downsides. But the power you can achieve with this deck is SO COOL!:D

What kind of deck are you going for, Net Hunter? Red is mostly a direct damage, Green is mostly creatures, Blue does well with Counter Spells, White is nice with healing, and Black is good with damage while healing.

They all have their ups and downs, but try to keep the ratio of Mana to Creatures, Spells, etc, at about 1:3 or 1:2, depending on your type of deck. Mana is usually the key to survival!

Well, as I said I have been in booster drafts and I like all the colors, pherhaps one of most effiscent combinations is red/black or even a monored deck. I dont want to try a mono black cuz´ in the kamigawa block the black magic is REALLY expensive:

Paria numai
Mana cost 3 B
Creature-Human samurai 1/1

Bushido 2 (When this blocks or becomes blocked it gets +2/+2 until end of turn)

B, pay 5 LIFE, regenerate paria numai

B = 1 Black mana

See?, paying 5 life to regenerate is really high, not to say that a simple glacial ray, or even a frostweilder can dispatch it.

I currently have a mono red deck based on direct damage, some samurai, and some shamans. A monowhite deck Based on Samurais and Kitsune clerics, A Green-Black deck full of spiritcraft (4 kami of the waning moon and 4 thief of hope) And my latest creation Is a 4 colored deck. White, black, blue and green. I have 2 of each zubera, 2 of each honden and some monks

Since betrayers brings on the ninjutsu thematic, maybe a blue deck full of ninjas and spirits. If some of you went to the prerelease, can you tell me what did you used?

PD: I already knew the sunburst thematic

Do you have the Devouring Greed card? That card, in with the Zuberas, are one of THE greatest combos. If you had some Red in that deck, you would be able to put in the Ember-Fist Zubs, which in when they die, target players loses life equal to the number of Zubs put into the graveyard this turn. Of course, if you use the D. Greed card, that is 2 damage for each spirit destroyed plus the additonal 2 life gained for each destroyed, especially when yu are destroying your Zubs. The numbers can stack up really quick after to use the trusty calculator. Just 7 Zubs and that card (Along with at least 1 Ember-Fist) can kill someone in one blow. But the only bad thing on that deal, is that you would have to get all those creatures out with the right mana to supply them with.

Here it is, A big Ogre-Oni deck Wich I did ALL by myself, completely black, legal in Kamigawa block AND a nightmare for those without black creatures:

Lands 24
23 Swamp
Shizo Death´s Storehouse

Creatures 19

1 Kiku, Nights´flower
1 Nezumi Graverrober
3 Gutwrencher Oni
3 Painwracker Oni
4 Villainous Ogre
1 Bloodthirsty Ogre
1 Blood Speaker
2 Takenuma Bleeder
3 Rag Dealer

Spells 14

2 Rend Spirit
2 Rend Flesh
3 Befoul
1 Dance of Shadows
2 Struggle for Sanity
2 Ragged Veins
2 Midnight Covenant

Artifacts 4

1 Moonring Mirror
1 Shuko
2 No-Dachi

Pretty Cool huh? Its based on Non stop attacks with villainous ogre, then bring some oni With blood speaker and if the oponent cant block the fear, with a couple of painwracker oni would be enough.
I put Moonring mirror to acelerate the drawing and when I only have 1 useless card in my hand I can Change it for all the other cards!

The only changes would be to put another blood speaker and another Bloodthirsty ogre instead of 2 of the 4 Villainous ogre and pu put another 3 Nezumi Graverobber instead of those 3 Rag dealer, the problem is that all of them are hard to find so.....

But still it works fine.

Also you should post your decks and combos as well!

I am currently working on a deck theme, granted it is nowhere near complete, but I need some input on what might need to go in here.

Deck Vapor

Lands:21
10 Island
11 Swamp

Creatures: 19
3 Cephalid Looter
2 Cephalid Broker
3 Wall of Air
2 Illusionary Wall
4 Horned Turtle
3 Wicked Akubra
2 Nezumi Cutthroat

Magic:20
3 Megrim
3 hymn to Tourach
4 Mind Rot
3 Dampen Thought
3 Deep Analysis
2 Brainstorm
2 Counterspell

The deck mostly revolves around having your opponient draw cards only to have them discard them. With the Megrims in play, for each card they discard it is 2 damage to them, and if I have multiple.... Well, you get the idea. Also, if I am in need of some cards, the brainstorms and other cards can help me out. The counterspells are only in there because I ran out of cards. But I have yet to test this deck out, so I need some advice if anyone thinks that it would be able to run properly.

By the way, Net Hunter, the deck looks really good. I\'ll have to build it, once I get the right cards, and try it out.

I got A combo that can help you, first use an enchanment, I donjt know its name but it lets players play creatures with converted mana cost 3 or less from their hands without paying mana AND to play them as instants (I think its from the Elves Block) Then use Cabal Arpie, when it comes into play it returns a blue creature to hand, RETURN THAT CABAL ARPIE, Use this a million times and then PUF, A brain freeze to make them put the top 3 cards of their library on their graveyard, since it has Echo and you played Cabal arpie a million times, YOUR OPPONENT LOSES!!!!:lol::devil::devil:

Im evil.... HA HA HA HA

Theres another black spell that deals 2 damage to terget oponent and it also has ECHO so you can pick the one you like it most

By the way, whats your nickname on Wizards of the coast mesagge boards?

I\'ll try not to get off the subject too much but... I just started on magic and was wondering a few things... What does fear mean, what does scry mean(like the card says you can scry for 2) and thats all I can think of.

I bought a deck on the legends of kamigawa set and it is a spirit deck.

Scry: (This is from memory now...) Look at the top 2 cards of your deck and you may put any # to the bottom of your deck in any order.

This means that you can rearrange the cards in any order, and you may put both back on the top, 1 on the top and 1 on the bottom, or both on the bottom. The cards that have this ability are really good for deck cycling and are somewhat valuable.

I hope that helped. ^^;;

just try it gawwwd. it is very hard at first but it is more fun than other tcg\'s. what makes it so fun is that it really doesnt have to follow a certain path like card based shows (like yu-gi-oh) and it really doesn\'t get boring because there are always people that are better than you and still things you can improve on.

Just started playing Magic the Gathering around...mid-december.....and i hate getting into TCG\'s becuase its kinda hard for me to stop and i go ALL OUT on buying packs -_-;;
I used to have 4 diff decks.
Orochi Deck
basically orochi hatchery+ sosuke,Sachi, and Seshiro. For more fun i put a Mirror Gallery in it. Mirror Gallerys effect is, \"the ledgend rule does not apply\" And since i put 4 of each of the cards aforementioned above meant much fun of increasing my snakes power. Sosuke gives each snake +1/0 and another effect...can\'t remember it....Sachi\'s is +0/+1 and all shamans get Tap: add 2 forest mana to mana pool. Seshiro\'s was +2/+2 and if i deal combat damage with my snakes i get to draw a card. This deck was really really bland all it does is get mana, over run, get mana, over run, rinse wash repeat -_-.....

Artifact Deck
The only type of land in this deck was Artifacts, the colors i used were red and white. Unfortunately, artifact lands are very prone to being destroyed easily and since they\'re non-basic can\'t really pull them out quickly. The main card here in this deck is Soul Scour \"Destory all non-artifact permanents\" downside to it was that it cost 10 mana to use, Good thing about it is once used the opponent will most likely forfeit for he/she will lose all lands, creatures and enchantments, however this deck is rendered useless against a Blue Deck due to the heavy countering cards. The main reason why i scrapped the idea for this deck was the amoutn of mana required to summon things. There were quite a few \"big\" creatures that cost a lot of mana. Arcbound overseer cost 8 mana however its effect was a major asset to arcbound reclaimer. Arcbound Overseer\'s ability was \"add a +1/+1 counter to each creature with modular that i control. Arcbound Reclaimer\'s effect was remove a +1/+1 counter to return target artifact card to the top of your library. Other cards that i had in this deck were soulblast, Dark Steel Reactor, Mind Slaver, and in the web of war.
Mind Slaver and Dark Steel reactor were 2 truly BS cards. Mind Slaver cost alot of mana but its quite good. 6 mana to play, then pay 4 and sacrifice it, gain control of target players next turn. Dark steel reactor cost 4 mana and its indestructible. put one charge counter on Dark steel reactor at the beggining of your upkeep once it has 20 charge counters you win the game. In the web of war cost 5 mana however it is also quite good as its effect is whenever a creature comes into play under your control it gets +2/0 and has haste until of end of turn. But as i said before i scrapped it becuase of high mana costing cards thus rendering it useless till the end of the game.

Sunburst Deck
This was a differnet type of sunburst deck, its main focus was Door to Nothingness, 5 mana to play, Door to nothingness comes into play tapped, pay 2 of each color mana, tap and sacrifice door to nothingness target player loses the game. I had 4 of those along with 4 doublign cubes. Doubling cube cost 3 mana to play, pay 2 mana and tap it, double the amount of mana you have in your mana pool. Also i put 2 of each Bringer and Beacon in it as well. Bringer of the red dawn and white dawn were truly annoying as hell. Gemstone array is a major asset to any sunburst deck. Cost 4 mana to play, pay 2 mana add a charge counter to Gem Stone array, remove a charge counter from Gemstone array, add one mana of any color to your mana pool. Easily use sunburst effects to their fullest this way and stack up on mana as well. I didn\'t continue to play with my sunburst because it took a bit too long too use to its fullest, around 6 or so turns. all i coudl summon at the time were myrs.....not enough to stop a haste deck or any big creatures.

Myr Retriever Deck.
This deck along with my fireball deck are the only two decks i have left.
All this deck does is use Grinding Station or Blasting Station. First get one of the 2 cards out. then get a Krark Clan ironworks and 2 myr retrievers.
I\'ll type out the Effects of the cards, see if u can figure out my strategy, kinda easy strat nothign to complicated.
Krark Clan Ironworks
4 mana cost
Sacrifice an artifact add 2 colorless mana to your mana pool.

Blasting station
3 mana cost
Tap: Sacrifice a creature: lasting station deals 1 dmg to target player, you may untap blasting station if a creature comes into play.

Grinding Station
2 mana cost
Tap: Sacrifice an artifact. Target player puts the top three cards of his/her library into their graveyard. if an Artifact comes into play you may untap Grinding Station.

Myr Retreiver
2 mana cost
Artifact Creature
When myr retreiver comes into play return target artifcat card to your hand from your graveyard.

.....so did you figure it out?

Here it is....the tried and true Fireball Deck.

Fireball Deck.
This is my best deck i have made, however its still not perfect yet.
This deck has the bare minimum of cards....40.
4x Fireballs
4x krark clan ironworks
4x ornithopter
4x Welding jar
4x paradise mantel
4x Myr moonvessel
16x mountain

Fireball
1 mountain and X
Deal X dmg to target play or creatures, pay one more for each targetted this way.

Krark Clan Ironworks
4 mana
Artifact
Sacrifice an Artifact add 2 colorless mana to your mana pool

Ornithopter
0 mana cost
Artifact Creature
0/2

Welding Jar
0 mana cost
Sacrifice welding jar, regenerate target artifact

Paradise Mantel
0 mana cost
Artifact-Equipment
Equip cost is 1 mana
Equipped creature has Tap: add one mana of any color to your mana pool.

Myr Moon Vessel
1 mana cost
Artifact Creature
When myr moon vessel is put into the graveyard from play add 1 colorless mana to your mana pool.

Basically just get krark clan ironworks out, and sac 10 artifacts, and play fireball, 20 dmg and opponent is dead. This deck is rendered useless against emmisary of despair though T_T

And well yeah thats all mine so far.

WTF!!!!!!!! YOU GOT A MIRROR GALLERYYYYY??????????? HOW THE HECK DID YOU GOT THAT???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the players I know are looking for a mirror gallery :eek: GOD I REALLY WANT ONE!!!!

Also, here is my favorite artifact from kamigawa block:

Kusarigama
Artifact-equip

2: equipped creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn

Equip 3

Whenever equipped creature deals damage to a creature it deals that same amount of damage to each creature defending player controls

Have you thought that megaman 9 might be the last one (where Zero is revealed) why? well the first games used Roman numbers I II III IV V
So maybe the megaman X we know is actually megaman 10!!
