Imagine... In like, 50 years (less or more) we\'ll run out of fossil fuels and well, we don\'t usually use solar energy. So what do you guys think\'ll happen when we run out of fossil fuels?

Electricity isn\'t based off of Fossil Fuels.

Maybe, Mega X, but most (about 90% or more is). I did a speech on this subject not long ago. The fact is that our days of abundant energy are numbered. Some scientists think we may only have until 2012 until the fossil fuels are completely gone. Others say it\'s 2050. Either way, it\'s not a long time in the grand scheme of things. People say hydroelectric, solar, or nuclear energy sources will be the solution. But the sad truth is one alone cannot replace fossil fuels. A combination, perhaps, but never just one.
And don\'t rely on the scientists to figure something out because they probably won\'t. I\'m not saying their incompetent. I\'m saying they just can\'t do much themselves to stop the coming energy crisis.

I would litteraly start killing everyone in the electric company buissness. \'nuff said.

Don\'t you think that\'s a little extreme? I mean, do you have to kill everyone? Couldn\'t you just kill half of them or something?

One time, the electricty is most of NY went out for the whole day....So I pretty much played my GBA (cept it wasnt SP back then so I had no light) then when It was dark, I just stayed outside and sat. Then I came back in my house, and waited for the power to come back on. It came back at 1:00 Am, and I was soo releived...That I yelled......XD

Fossil fuels make energy.


What does it matter. If I don\'t have like a really cool wife or something, in 60 years I don\'t really think I\'ll be around. Being that old isn\'t so rad. And I\'ll prolly kill myself sometime during the next 50 years in some misshap.

Either way, I\'m sure they\'ll invest into solar energy or something. I hear they even have cars that run on water now a days.

Many things have died, and so there might still be alot of fossil fuel for us all! Yay. If by fossil fuels they mean only dinosuars....well....We\'re f**ked! Yknow there were like 2 billion Dinos back then soo........Our fuel could last!

I don\'t know if you guys have heaerd of the incident with first energy in August 2003 but I was in it.

when we\'re finally out of fossils, humanity would most likely start building even more nuclear power plants to uphold the current energy consumption.... Until we\'ve changed all nuclear fuels into nuclear waste which would be very hard to get rid of. In the worst case nature cancers away to barren wastelands.

So we\'re back from the start with all those other methods to generate power which don\'t generate as much power as all those finite kind of fuels. We would have to cover like the entire earth with those alternative energy converters even more, I guess.

ehhh, I don\'t know, I guess we\'d have to switch to solar or hydro power. Sadly enogh, if we can only make enough electricity to power heat, make food and have light then We could kiss this board goodbye, considering Doctor Cossack Jr. takes over. I\'d be just like that book where all the fuels are gone and everybody is killing each other for food and stuff, but I forget which book it is...I\'m just rambling now....

That\'s a really good idea (the about the hydoelectricity, I mean). If every little area had something like that, then the nation(s) could take care of itself (themselves), and we won\'t need a big international thing.

The cars would be quite easy to change, the only problem is that the fuel companies refuse to change it because they\'re too botherd about making a profit.

One temperary alternative is shit. Burn dung instead of coal. Then again, that\'s just my idea.

For the internet, servers will also have to power themselves (by which I mean, if you own server, you\'ll have to generate your own power). But look on the bright side! At least we\'ll be rid of Microsoft and the Islamic extreminsts won\'t be able to burn all the oil in Iraq!

funny... The Mayan calender (most accurate calander to date) ends in 2012, predicting the end of the world.

How do you work that one out? What makes it more accurate than any other calander? A calander tells what date is what day and stuff. It\'s either right or wrong, how can one be more accurate than another. How, also, can it tell the future? I don\'t like to believe that the future is certain, it means that nothing I do I\'m in control of. I like to believe that I\'m in control of my life and everything that I do.

I think you\'re thinking about hydrogen-powered cars in development. Those produce water as a biproduct. Allow me to confuse everyone with a chemical equation:

2H(2)+ O(2) -> 2H(2)O

That\'s the basic formula for such a reaction, which the burning of hydrogen in air (oxygen) results in a release of a large amount of energy. By the way, I\'m using (2) in place of a subscript.

If electricity ever did run out, for what ever reason,we have lived without it before, and I am sure that some would be able to adapt to the new lifestyle. Others...well... Good luck to them. ^^

If we run out of electricity I\'m going to make the biggest potato farm ever and be able to power everyone\'s lightbulbs so we can all read and draw peacefully.
