Doubt it. Seems to me that people here only want to learn one language, and thats because of manga etc. What if it was well translated?

Kia, there are many \"Zero.exe\" here. People refere to me by that alot. \"Zero EXE\" or \"Zero\" is just fine.

On topic! I don\'t know why, but I can naturally spell Japanese words by hearing them.

I\'d like to learn Japanese and Spanish. If I had enough linguistical brain space left, I\'d just learn all of \'em.

Looks like a lot of you want to learn Japanese but you do know the sentence structure is Subject object verb as English is Subject verb object, but that\'s not going to screw you as much as the prepositions coming after the word it\'s modifying, totally the reverse of Western languages. And not to mention when you are asking for a number of things you have to know the number modifier to say you want more than one of something and there are hundreds of them. If you want four pieces of paper, you say \"four sheets\"-- yon-mai (-mai is the counter). it would be like having to know it\'s a \"murder\" of crows just to say two crows. there\'s an informal way to say it, and it works in a lot of situations but sill you have to know the counters.

also differences are than they count in intervals of 10,000 not 1000 like western languages. that is to say at 1,000 we go back to one as one-thousand and one but they have a different word for up to 10,000 to say ichi man nana sen go hyaku kyu juu ni is (one ten thousand seven thousand five hundred nine ten two) 17,592 so longs numbers are hard as all hell. And that\'s not all I\'m going to do a small lesson later, and you\'ll see what I mean.

I guess it would be best if you would speak the base words of some languages. Japanese and English amongst them. French also included, I guess. The others depend on where you live.

Really, I find Spanish to be one of the more useful languages in America, at least you can thrive in areas like Miami and L.A. where there are mostly spanish speaking civilians. If your European, I\'m guessing French and German are essential as well, because, well, Europe is a pretty messed up place.

Yeah, Spanish is useful... and it\'s quite a nice one to hear, too...

I decided to take up learning japanese on my own, not becuase of manga, nor anime, but because i should at least know my nationalitys damn language, or at least some of it, for that matter >>;;
For the most part, its not that difficult. Hiragana, and Katakana are faily easy if you keep practicing daily. Kanji, is the hard part.

Yeah, speech is mostly quite easy, just listen to the people speaking (hopefully whilst they point at things or say words that seem 50% English -gemu=game-, and some are always more easy to learn)
Wish yah luck with it learning. I hope I can once be able to at least understand some Japanese words, the basics.

Yeah, good reason... I\'d also like Japanese, so I can understand Japanese movies and those japanese intro\'s of new MM games they show at E3

Jesus, learning Japanese is really inefficent if you only want to use it to understand the E3 videos. Plus, I really think no one here is going to Japan anytime soon, in the meantime you should learn a language that can be used in more that one Country...Yea, I know, I\'m rambling about Spanish...don\'t remind me...

I just want to learn the basics, to at least understand it. That\'s better, a lot less hard.

Now that was very helpful, J_Hibiki. Seriously, I\'ve been wondering about how the sentence structure works. Now, if only I knew how to conjugate the verbs...

I\'m taking Russian in highschool now. I took Spanish last year (8th grade), but I hated it. Nothing against the Spanish speakers, I just can\'t roll my R\'s. I took Russian because I thought I wouldn\'t have to roll my R\'s. I was wrong:cry:

If you want to learn Russian, go to Master Russian. It\'s great.

Well, you could also try to learn some basic words in the holidays and weekends. It\'ll make a lot of difference.

Well, I would like french and jappanese because the first one (just like italian) its a lot like spanish and the way it sounds its nice to be heard, and since I would like to go to europe and since I m very good with english(already learned when I was 6), and mexican spanish its not very different from spain`s spanish (like United states-England) I would like to learn it.
Jappanese because in elementary they used to teach me jappanesse, but since I entered jr high I forgot all of it. I got a couple of friends who are from japan and I would like to understand them a little better, besides I also would like to visit japan someday.

The other one is latin. Just like elburrito said, its a dead language but all the romantic languages were originated from it. Besides the way it sounds has a certain charm and to study medicine you need to learn it.

So problably I would be Latin, then french, then jappanesse.
