I\'m no expert, but I know trouble when I see it. Everybody should get out of its path now while you still have a chance. Katrina is looking to be the worst storm in the history of forever, and I advise everyone who haven\'t left to tell everyone else to get out of there, and get out of there themselves. If you or your friends think, \"Oh, it won\'t happen to me,\" well. you\'re damn wrong. Run/drive as fast as you can (within the speed limit) and go to somewhere safe. Remember: you are all targets, and Katrina isn\'t going to make any exceptions.

It already hit Florida, as of Thursday, But looking at this, wtf did it do? Turn around? Its path is now right through where I live x.X.

EDIT: Well, now...I don\'t feel safe..Cat 5...Not telling us the gusts, so it must be bad....considering the damage Ivan did to us..this is even worse...My dad, did alot of meteorologist work before. He said if you look at Texas, with all those storms. It LOOKS like a coldfront, and about probably 700 miles apart, and if it hit Katarina, it could turn it north eat, and slap it right dab through Alabama..Ugh...we had a 20-30ft storm surge last time with Ivan...if it hits again, and at a cat 5...Imagine the destruction

Dang. When those hurricanes hit last year (I can\'t even remember all the names:P) they hit my house one right after another. My mom\'s house was out of power for like 3.5 weeks. Then the clean up was horrible. We\'re still cutting up dead trees. Hurricanes jsut suck. They suck more than......something that sucks really bad.

Woo-hoo, somone has the courage to make a topic about this, My Miamian self is touched by how much you care.

This was a suprising lil\' Hurricane, I didn\'t expect to brake 10 powers lines like cheetos causing my home to be without electricity for the next 2 weeks. So far, I\'m angry, I have to stay at Grandma\'s, It\'s not too bad, but to make up for all the resources my mom and I are taking up we have to do odd jobs for her to keep her remotely happy. As of now, I\'m gonna stay up late, eat Cherrios, and watch TV because Glades Middle School is outta power!

Yeah, it\'s been all over Fox News for quite a while now. I mean, that\'s good. It\'s certainly important.

Anyways, living in South Carolina, we don\'t really get the effects of most disasters... we don\'t really get much of anything, actually. I get 1 snow day a year if I\'m lucky.

Hey,wait a minute,my cousins name is Katrina. Its sort of funny that it is named that,if they named it that, then the newest hurricane should be called \"Hurricane Imarianna\"Thats her daughters name.I say this because she acts like a little black tornadoe cloud, and destroys anything in her path. Not only dose she do that but she also smacks you in the face too.

If it maintains its current pressure, it will be the most intense named hurricane to impact the United States in recorded history (since the naming of storms began in 1950, and second overall since 1851, when hurricanes began to be recorded), slightly stronger than Hurricane Camille\'s central pressure of 909 mb in 1969 and larger in size. As of 2 PM EDT Katrina has 906 mb. The unnamed Labor Day Hurricane of 1935 that hit the Florida Keys was slightly more powerful, with a minimum central pressure of 892 mb.

Katrina has also drawn comparison to Hurricane Betsy, which in 1965 struck New Orleans after passing over the Florida Keys, causing over $1 billion in damage and resulting in the deaths of 75 people, earning the nickname \"Billion Dollar Betsy\".

Something to think about: there\'s no such thing as F6, since category 5 is the highest level.

I hope so hope it for you. I\'ve heard that how stronger the hurricane is, the longer they can last, in some cases.
And you never know it with hurricanes. They are as unpredictable as... well, some certain kind of people... I\'d say... erm... you know which kind... ;) :P

I think that it\'s unfortunate that the effects were this devistating, and also that much of it could have been prevented. George Bush himself said that he was dissappointed at how slow the government was to respond. He didn\'t seem to realise that he is the government, but at least he has the general idea.

The aftermath is devastating... Luckily I was far enough to just get some wind lightning and rain from the hurricane, it wasn\'t too bad for me. I feel bad for the people that lost everything.

I think now all of us US residents know of the aftermath in New Orleans. It\'s said there there is over ten-thousand dead, and many more unaccounted for. I don\'t know about the rest of you, but I feel really stupid- horrible, even, for griping about minor inconveniences after their entire city was wiped out. I almost started crying when I was watching the news. I wish there was some way I could help, but all I can offer is my prayers. Does anyone else have a thought on this?

You can offer money, if you wanted. I\'t\'s not exactly like there aren\'t any charities around and the governmemt aren\'t exactly helping as much as they should be.

Thats what you think, I live done here, and no. There are still people going to the Superdome. As well, as FEMA has annoucned they will do nothing more until they have analyzed the situation, now wtf? They\'ve analyzed it enough. Fzcking do something. I look around, and I see incidents all the time. But this, is far by worse.

Thank you FEMA and government for being so timely and helping your citizens.

I heard the Superdome had alot of dead bodies in it at one point, and smells like a sewer. Why are people still going there..?
