Well, the long awaited Naruto has finally aired. And from what I can tell, it\'s not another kid-friendly, dumbed-down anime butchered at the hands of cruel dubbers. The Japanese themes are present, including multiple words left untranslated, such as Hokage, jutsu, shinobi, and sensei. The only problem I have with it is Naruto\'s voice. But other than that, it looks like this is going to be a pretty good anime.

Damn I mist it!:madgo: I was going to whatch it and then I spaced it. Glad to heare it is a good show. I still wanted to see the first episode though.:mad:

Yeah, there are wall-to-wall fans of this series, so I\'ve always wanted to know what was so great about it. Anyways, after watching the anime, I decided that there\'s definately something to be enjoyed about the series.

Yeah, as far as I can tell, they aren\'t going to dumb this one down nearly as much. I think his voice is fine, but I guess fans of the series might find it irritating. It\'s very kiddy-like.

Actually, I\'m not such a big fan of the series (yet). I just don\'t really like his voice.

I\'m pretty sure that 90% of the internet will want my head on a stick for this...but Naruto gets pretty lame once the Zabuza arc ends. It\'s worth the watch until then though. I probably won\'t bother with the dub since I didn\'t watch the anime (only read the manga) so yeah...

Meh, IMO the dub sucks total ass.
I rather pay $20 for the DVD\'s which i do right now, then watch that horrid crap on TV ever again.

Yeah, if you don\'t like the dubs just buy the DVDs. I\'m too cheap to buy DVDs personally so I deal with the dubs. I don\'t really like alot of anime plotlines anyways, so I just watch it for the animation.

Manga is far far far better.

1.) I\'d have to order them off the internet since they don\'t sell crap in Ohio. And my mom only does that on Christmas.

2.) I already have two DVD box sets for Naruto but, its quite easier to download.

3.) DVD subbes were all in the wrong spots on some of the episodes...

4.) Manga release is WAY too slow.

5.) Because I can.

Still just get the DVDs. I mean, I just really hate the thought of anyone downloading videos and games illegally off the net. It cuts company profits, and quite frankly, it\'s just cheap. Just watch it edited on TV. It\'ll be ok...-_-

The only place that sells more up-to-date stuff is Borders and SunCoast and they are both at the mall. Which I will not go to every week just to see what new anime/manga they have. Plus the only place that is really going to sell Naruto stuff is Hot Topic and they don\'t sell many DVDs there.

No, nothing of the sort. But still, 100 fridays is actually a huge timeframe to show new episodes once a week on Fridays. If there\'s about 350 days in a year, and Friday is 1 of 7 days, than 50 days in a year it will be shown. Now, that really gives you 2 years of full on airtime.:eek:

It\'s illegal. So are Roms for instance. How many rom sites are still around, without getting sued? Hundreds and hundreds. How about warez? Same thing. Companies don\'t sue every website that\'s breaking the law. Still, you\'re doing something illegal by downloading the anime or manga. Admit to that. It\'s pathetic how people don\'t think it\'s stealing. Downloading all that manga and anime is just as bad as going into a store and taking it.



Well, I can also commit murder but I choose not to because I have morals. :o Actually someone remind me.. If anyone who previously downloaded entire anime series and didn\'t give a cent to the anime studios gets something profitable of their own..I must make a website to rip them all off.

Companies don\'t sue every website, however they sue the main popular websites and they usually get shut down. Until a bittorrent website, or any other website for that matter, starts charging users money to download episodes/movies, that is when the law suits come in.

\"Free\" fansub at the anime studios expense is what they really mean.

Really now, if you downloaded an entire anime, or entire movie, or entire anything it\'d be perfectly fine -IF- you had plans on getting the DVDs or mangas or whatever. If you download a manga volume just to see if you\'ll like it, there isn\'t any harm in that. But far too many people download the entire series, and therefore when the series is translated by paid professionals and sent to the US...no one buys it.

Like Naruto here..people have been downloading it for years now. It\'s finally coming over here. Sure, the Cartoon Network fankiddies will buy all the merchandise but a huge portion of Naruto \"fans\" (I use that term very loosely here) are thieves. They\'ve already downloaded and read all the manga up to a recent point, and same for the anime. Why bother buying the DVDs/manga (and therefore showing the subbing companies that your country is a interested market and they should continue to supply it with anime) when you can download it, right?

I\'m not trying to send anyone on guilt trips, I just want people to realize that..just because you\'re stealing anonymously on the internet doesn\'t make it right, and doesn\'t make it any different than going to stores and stealing the DVDs/mangas right off the racks. You are stealing. Don\'t ever try to justify it. I don\'t justify it when I download the R word. Unlike most anime fans though, I actually buy the games I enjoy.

I\'m not exactly a die hard fan (I\'ve only seen some odd ten of the original episodes dubbed) but I really do enjoy the series. And after all the anti-hype, by myself even, I was suprised by how faithful the series was.

But did anybody else that while they kept the whole \"Sexy-Jit\" routine, nudity name and all, when he uses it to \"defeat\" people, they fly away without the nose-bleed-rockets. Why? That cut just seemed odd...

Anyway, hurray for a good series not dead.:D

Maybe they can let the giant shuriken in the back and slight nose-bleeds slide, but they refuse to show enormous amounts of blood at once?:lol:

Erm, that is a good point. Still, they seem to be doing significantly less censoring than others shows.
