I don't see why it wouldn't be canon: it's an official game, by Capcom, which doesn't contradict anything established (besides the few usual plot points, just like any other X game).

Could be that MMX:Command Mission was like a side-story, but if that being so. Where did the rest of the characters run off too?

Well, I guess it's canon if you don't mind the reploid aging and reproduction issues and what not. XD
So yeah, I guess it could be considered just as canon as many of the other games.

OfflineI just asked because I was planning a story which killed off Axl, but it relied on X8's ending to put it into action. Of course, I think I can plan for the gap between it and Command Mission.
The canon's so screwed up anyways, might as well just do whatever you want with Command Mission.
I'd say it's canon. As stated the MM story/canon is that much of a mess nobody really takes any notice.
It does seem weird that Giga City is so huge and awesome and just happens to exist in the middle of nowhere...BTW who the hell sent X and Zero there anyway?
I traded my copy in a while back but I'd beat it several times and got X and Zero's armours so there's no real regret. (That Ultimate Armor was the shizzle)

BannedCommand mission is definatly Canon, it is meant to be a side story, now non canon is definatly the MM anime series, but Capcom still kept it almost way similar and identical to the VG, it was considered non canon though.

Command Missions takes place between X7 and X8, I believe it's a Sidestory like Cyber Mission and Soul Eraser.
To be honest, I think the X series needs more sidestories.

Considering that several years could be located between the events of X8 and Command Mission, there's room for him to go maverick if you so wish. Dying seems to be out of the question, though, much to some people's chagrin.

Wait a minute. If Axl goes Maverick, then they'd have to off him, right? Since no cure seems to exist for the Maverick Virus. That means either that ending with Axl in X8 was a fake-out, or something would happen in X9 to fix this. But it's probably never gonna get made, so I gotta assume it was a fake-out.
