You must not forget Josef Mengele (The angel of death) the doctor/ officer with the cheerful, kind disposition who actually directed the unknowing jews to the left (camp, safe for now) or the right (the gas chambers)
This guy was charged with 74 crimes
I read about this man (Josef Mengele) in the book
Night, which is a first hand account about a boy\'s experiences in the Holocaust. This man is still alive today, if any of you are wondering. Also, since the book is only about 80 pages long (the original manuscript was over 800, but no one would publish it, so the guy shortened it), I suspect you pick it up or borrow it from you local library. If you pick up all the little details while reading, you can get a really good look at what happened in a concentration camp.
EDIT: Sorry, I meant the author of
Night is still alive, not Josef Mengele.
