Hot off the press, Professor Layton Vs Ace Attorney is on it's way, at least in Japan, for the 3DS. Artwork available too!
A Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright mash-up? If you thought that the puzzles in either of these series could get tricky, just wait until you get to try to solve mix-ups!
What a surprise, to say the least. It's a really strange mix at first, but this is something that could turn out great at the end!
Steam allows you to get games and coupons... and also trade them away.
I'm making this topic to allow members, myself included, to share those items that we don't want so that someone else can benefit. I'll start with the following two items:
Free copy of Portal!
Gone!
75% off Portal 2
Expired - sorry!
I'll happily give these to anyone who requests it, on a single condition: actually play the games, don't just add them to your virtual shelf. Because ...
Once upon a time I tried playing the NES Ys 1 and I didn't really get anywhere, but more recently, I got Ys: the Oath in Felghana and Ys Origin on Steam.
Those two games are glorious.
Ys Oath, a remake of Ys III, is a hard game and really makes you earn your victories, but is very fulfillling at the same time. Not to mention that the area music tracks are brilliant. Well, the entire soundtrack is brilliant but the area tracks (such as for the ...
Audiosurf will make you rediscover your entire music collection. For those of you who don't know, Audiosurf is an INCREDIBLE fusion of tetris, guitar hero, and a racing game.
First, you select a character and difficulty level. Each character performs differently; one only has two colors of blocks, one allows you to store blocks of a single color, one randomizes your board etc. Then you select ANY MUSIC FILE YOU OWN. The game builds a custom track based ...
Looks like they decided to make a sequel to the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. No word on what it's subtitle will be at current, but it's supposed to come out next year in Japan and this holiday season in North America... which has me wondering if this is real or not.
Nintendo Australia news, Japan already confirmed, other regions likely to follow soon.
So Nintendo is shutting down the Weather, News, Everybody Votes and Mii Contest channels for the Wii in a few months. This isn't too surprising considering the age of the console, but I still expected them to keep those running a bit longer while the Wii U builds up it's own momentum. Of course, the fact that the Wii Mini (the most recent version of the console) has no Internet connectivity ma ...
Wondering why the PSN has been down for a week? Well, wonder no more: a group of people hacked into the system and probably copied your user data!
From the article, the following information was obtained:
name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qr ...
DuckTales Remastered Coming to PSN, XBLA, Wii U - IGN
EDIT: Official announcement here. They've got most of the voice cast of the TV series on board. And it's from WayForward, who know their way with classic-styled games! Edited by Dr. Cossack on March 22, 2013 at 14:44:30
I kept hearing great things about this game, and picked it up on a whim since it was only $5 during today's Steam Sale.
I can't believe I almost passed it up.
The fact that Minecraft beat it on almost every occasion for indie game of the year is almost CRIMINAL. It's an experience that feels polished and complete and probably one of my favorite games of 2011. And I'm saying this in 2012, so there's not even time to change my mind.
After finally getting around to playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution (awesome graphics and gameplay, awful everything else) I've started to miss my old Tenchu and Metal Gear Solid days. Unfortunately, as I'll never own a PS3, and my 360 is baked (thanks to a 2 year old) I can't play either of those.
I've got a PC that's pretty powerful though.
Anyone have any suggestions for a PC game that's similar to Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Metal Gear Solid or Tenchu? I& ...
Surprise! Microsoft is releasing a new version of Age of Empires II next month on Steam! This so-called "HD" edition has the same 2D graphics but has support for modern displays (widescreen, multi-monitor setup), a matchmaking system, Steamworks (achievements) and more. It even includes the Conquerors expansion!
I spent a lot of time playing the original, including some epic matches of 15 hours(!), and a version that properly supports modern PCs might very well be worth it. I on ...
Konami announced Castlevania: Mirror of Fate this week, a game set in the timeline started in Lords of Shadow. This means it's part of the ongoing reboot of the Castlevania series, and not the old continuity.
I've been waiting for a follow-up to Order of Ecclesia for a while now... and I'm terribly disappointed. This game loses the lore established over the years, starts anew with the characters, drops the beautiful hand-drawn sprites and completely revamps the gameplay. Th ...
Out of curiosity, how fast do you usually play through games?
On my end, I tend to play through them rather slowly, often taking several weeks to play through your average game. Some RPGs, especially ones that aren't portable, can often take me months to complete. As much as I'm loving Xenoblade Chronicles, I'm still far from seeing it's end! Likewise, I started playing Pokémon White 2 on the week of it's release, but I'm nowhere close to taking on the champi ...
NewWizardry Online A brand new MMO of TERRIFYING proportions! Started by WindRider739 on 1 February 2013 at 21:53
It's happened. Those of you who grew up playing the DnD and Roguelike games of the late 80s and early 90s will remember a series called Wizardry for the PC. It laid the foundation for RPGs with graphics and defined the system that later became a fully immersive 3d world, utilizing an engine that was later expanded upon by Ultima's Underworld and Underworld II. Bane of the Cosmic Forge was one of my first PC games that didn't involve cards, and it's been 12 years since the ...
Every 5-10 years, the cycle repeats. Atari files for bankruptcy in the US.
Before anyone goes "oh no, another industry giant is dying!", this isn't the real Atari, which has been dead for a long time. This is the US branch of Infogrames, which purchased the name some time back and then renamed themselves to Atari because of it's brand recognition.
That name is cursed nowadays. If you're bored, read up on the history of the Atari name. It's quite fun to see ...
It's too early in the morning, I've got the feeling I'm not awake yet. TF2 characters in a Sega racing game? What? Edited by Dr. Cossack on January 18, 2013 at 7:19:45
If this is anywhere similar to Xenoblade Chronicles, and it looks like it'll be, then WANT. I'm far from being done with Xenoblade since the game is so HUGE, but I'm loving every minute of it. The atmosphere is breathtaking, and I even imported the soundtrack since it has some of the best RPG compositions I've heard in years. I can use more of that.
Hey, guys. Anyone play tabletop RPGs? Things like Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu or Word of Darkness? Of course others are welcome.
I play Dungeons and Dragons and - more recently - Pathfinder. I noticed that every time my group tries to play, it turns into the first hour being a bunch of people trying to one up each-other's adventure stories. Some of them are actually pretty awesome. I was wondering if anyone had any they'd like to share! I'll share min ...
Meet Captain Rainbow, Nintendo's new original character.
THIS IS WHY WE JUST SMILE AND NOD WHEN THEY GIVE US MARIO.
>Earlier this week, Nintendo revealed a mysterious new Wii title in production called Captain Rainbow. While specific details are still unknown, the game is said to be a strange hybrid of 2.5D fighting segments reminiscent of Viewtiful Joe and sprawling exploration in the vein of Animal Crossing.
>Still not convinced? Pr ...
Sega is apparently in a bad position, as the company is cancelling games and laying off employees. Basically, they're killing some projects currently in development while others will be published by other groups. They'll focus on four franchises only for the time being: Sonic, Football Manager, Total War, and Aliens.
When you start dropping everything but your core properties, that's when you know the situation is getting serious. Sega has a long history for launching games ...
So here's the deal... a close personal friend of mine has been developing an app for the Android marketplace. It's a mobile scavenger hunt that involves riddles and trying to beat your friends to finding an item. Even better, it's free. I'm not at liberty to reveal much more than this right now, but the beta is slated to launch mid-december. I can continue to post updates here as they come available. If you have Facebook, I'd consider it a personal favor if you were ...
I'm opening this topic to talk about the various videogames I'm playing, and to give my comments on them. In many cases, I want to post about a game yet I don't feel like I have enough content to create a whole new topic, so I'll be using this one as a common ground. :) Feel free to comment on whatever game I'm playing at the moment, of course!

Right before going on vacation, I picked up Dead or Alive Dimensions for my Nintendo 3DS. I wanted a new game to ...
For anyone who's interested in these, the latest Humble Indie Bundle is up and running!
Available this time around:
Rochard
Shatter
S.P.A.Z.
Torchlight
Vessel
Dustforce (beat the average)
I don't know any of these games, and I've got plenty of unplayed titles from the previous bundles, so I'll most likely pass this one up. If you're looking to discover some new games and get a nice deal at the same time, this is your chance!
