New UHC, round #6!
Update by Dr. Cossack
Started by Administrator on 2 February 2017 at 4:23
As we roll around another month, a new UHC challenge is awaiting you. This time: GLASSCORE. Good luck!

At the request of many players, and to make things more interesting, specific targets to reach have been added. These will be the same every month (excluding future tweaks) and give you something to fight for outside of merely surviving. Reaching each of these targets will grant you 5 Merit Points each:

- Crafting a bookshelf
- Crafting an enchantment table
- Access the Nether

New New Contest: Boats!
Update by MediaKlepto
Started by Administrator on 1 February 2017 at 7:15
It's coming up on 4 years since my first day here on Creeper's Lab, and just over 3 since I first became an Op. I've enjoyed every minute of my stay and I'm sure a lot of others would say the same!

I've seen my fair share of contests; judged a few and taken part in a handful. Everything from houses to castles, from gardens to trains, and even pixel artworks have been featured so far. Something is missing though...Something we have yet to see...

Boats.

Update by Dr. Cossack
Started by Administrator on 6 January 2017 at 15:30
Some of you noticed that the Creeper's Lab website and its parent Interordi.com were down for several hours in the past day, along with a worrying warning about security settings. This turned out to be a server bug within my host's systems, and nothing more dramatic. Everything is now back to normal!

New New Years 2017 Raffle Results
Update by MediaKlepto
Started by Administrator on 4 January 2017 at 7:55
Now that we've had a few days to bid farewell to 2016, here's a quick reminder of how the raffle went and who was lucky enough to win!

In total 29 names made it into the drawing, leaving everyone a decent 1-in-3 chance of walking away a winner. All of the contestants were randomly shuffled and the top 10 names were gifted an assortment of items including (but not nearly limited to) diamond blocks, enchanted books, weapons, and tools.

The lucky winners were: AnomalousSparrow, ...

New New Years Eve Raffle - Update 12/27
Update by MediaKlepto
Started by Administrator on 26 December 2016 at 6:03
Now that Christmas is just behind us, 2017 is quickly approaching in just a few short days. What better way to put 2016 behind us than a New Years Eve raffle?

If there was one thing 2016 was actually good for (albeit sadly so) it was bans, and some of those ignorant cretins shining examples had some real treats stashed away! What could be waiting to divvy up? Could it be gold or diamonds? Armor, weapons, or tools? Or perhaps even the most precious of materials; COAL?! It could be any or a ...

New Merry Christmas Creepers Lab
Update by Masterlink
Started by Administrator on 25 December 2016 at 14:04
Merry Christmas to all those on Creeper's Lab and the Netizens of Miranda.

On this joyous holiday I hope everyone is getting to spend time with their families and enjoying themselves. If you have the time to drop by, or you are alone this holiday, I've prepared a little something.

As my Christmas Present to you, for today only, the door to the Super C is OPEN. This means access without paying the regular iron ingot. Furthermore, I've placed a sign somewhere inside with a ...

New Max entity cramming now is place
Update by Dr. Cossack
Started by Administrator on 18 December 2016 at 2:56
I've enabled today the gamerule to limit the number of entities on the server, known as maxEntityCramming. This is a new setting introduced in 1.11, which I've set to a value of 50. This means that, within a small enclosure, any mobs over that limit will automatically suffocate and die. This is put into place to prevent runaway mob farms from piling up and lagging the server for everyone.

Note that this automatic check doesn't change anything on what we expect from you: all ...

Update by Dr. Cossack
Started by Administrator on 21 December 2016 at 5:10
One.one-one.one.

That's the new Minecraft version as released by Mojang some hours ago. This new version is not compatible with the base 1.11, and we're not ready to update yet, so please stay on 1.11 for now so you can play with us! Since this new update has some core changes that require plugins updates, and that many of us will be busy with the upcoming holidays, we won't be switching for a week at least.

The lobby alone has been updated tonight to be compatible with ...

Started by Administrator on 29 November 2016 at 16:41
Our resident historian Anonymous_SoFar made a news post last week about the possibility of allowing visitors to explore his single player world of Constantinople. The response was positive, so he has decided to go ahead with that! You'll get the chance to see where many elements from Laurasia's Byzantium (recently voted as one of our Seven Wonders) have been developed, along with a glimpse of what could be added in the future.

However, this is a limited time offer: it's av ...

Last month, I asked you to vote for what you considered to be the Seven Wonders of the Creeper's Lab. I've compiled the results and generated a brand new, wallpaper-sized render for each area. While many had been pictured before, I decided to look at them again with what I've learned of the process over time. Here they are, in alphabetical order - your Seven Wonders!

New Day 6: 50 more achievements!!
Update by Dr. Cossack
Started by Administrator on 18 November 2016 at 4:43
You asked, I deliver: there are now 50 NEW ACHIEVEMENTS to hunt down!

As some of you know, we used to have 150 targets, but I was forced to scale it down to 100 after the update to Minecraft 1.8 broke our older stats tracking system. After switching to a new plugin plus coding several new functionalities on my own, I've restored 32 of the missing 50; 18 targets are brand new to this batch! Some of the existing ones have been rebalanced as well.

Some are easy to understand:

So, I have an opportunity for the entire server. It is a once in a life time opportunity, I am allowing Doc to set up my singleplayer world of Constantinople for one weekend, and one weekend only. After that, never again.

Come and see where I store all my ideas for the Server's Byzantium. The world would be protected so you can't break anything, however you will be given flight so explore to your heart's content.

Gather round, everyone, for today marks the fifth anniversary of the Creeper's Lab! Wow!

Our primary world, Laurasia, has been running for that long without any map reset. Update by Dr. Cossack

This is an idea that has been thrown around for a while, and I decided to indulge you people with the introduction of UHC mode!

But what is UHC mode, some of you might ask? It's simple: it's hardcore Minecraft, on a server, with natural health regeneration disabled. Your main challenge in this case is to manage your health, since even eating won't fill it back up. Your only options are to brew health potions, craft Golden Apples, or build a regen beacon. Good luck with that ...
