Is anyone in danger here? Im on the west coast of Florida, so I know Im gonna get some winds. Everyone around the Carolinas and stuff, be careful. Charley did a LOT of damage down here. Half the trees on the sides of the road in Orlando were down. Same with some road signs. Oddly, I didnt get any wind or rain from Charley. It completely missed where I am. (Tampa area) Anyone in potential danger, be careful. Theyve estimated that the areas that were damaged will take 25 years to rebuild to where they were before. (sounds like a long time, but then again there WAS a lot of damage)

Washington is a nice place. The whole Pacific Northwest is a nice place in fact. Very Mild weather :P. Nights get cool, and the air is very clean. The Perfect state ^_^.

Well, bad business climate. Democrat state...not perfect...but close.

We once felt a hurracane. Luckily that all we did. Feel it. we were on the very edge of it so we missed all the damage. Most of it was in the sea, although it did cover most of Spain and Western Europe. I don\'t know. Not true. We didn\'t miss all the damage but it wasn\'t caused by the winds or anything. We just had an hour or so of Thunder and lightning. The little damage we did get would have been from the lightning. We had a few power suts. A series of short ones lasting only a few minutes each. AThe extraordinary thing is that there was not a lot of wind. In fact if I had not been told on the weather aferwards and I had not been shown the picture from space of it, I would have guessed that it was the usual summer Donner and Blitzen like as can be expected in the summer.

Heh! We get thing good here. The bigges earthquake there has ever been in my lifetime, I slept through which was nothing more than a small shake causing averything to move about a foot. The biggest hurracane in my lifetime I\'ve told you about. The only thing that is a problem to many who live in Britain is the floods. The rain here often causes floods that destroy homes just by making a mess. Not to mention what is washed out of the sewers and into people\'s homes. However, if you buy a house off a floodplane, you\'ll be fine! Although, you have the cutting down of trees between the river and the homes to thank for that. And the floodplanes should never have been built on.

Here I go again. I start on about one thing, that changes into something else and by the end, I end up with a huge post and much of it completely off topic! Sorry. Done it again!

Just got the power back on. Been out since yesterday. Oddly, none of my friends are online, even the ones NOT in Florida. I had an interesting time. My comps are here in the gameroom instead of upstairs in my room. Been listening to techno, playing Risk with my family, and drinking lots of bottled water over the past 24 hours.

I live in Roswell Georgia (near Atlanta), but I didn\'t really feel much, just a lot of rain and winds, and news non-stop. School was cancled because of Ivan though :P .

Hurricanes sure like Florida this year.

I\'ve only had to deal with a tornado. Well, we got part of a hurricane once, but it was just alot of wind..not enough to pick up cars thankfully.

Or the terrorists claim they\'ve made a hurricane machine and won\'t stop unless Americans leave Iraq.
We\'re about to get hit by Jeanne. The worst we\'ve had is Hugo. I\'m expecting the hurricane to hit where we live sometime around 8:00 AM tomorrow. I\'ll be in school then.
I wish they\'d cancel school for that day. :(

I haven\'t ever experienced a tropical storm where I am. I live in Texas, but when I went to Cancun, basically, the vacation started sucking.

My family lives in the Midwest, so, we don\'t have to deal with the immediate effects of hurricanes.. However, the hurricanes mean that craploads of plywood gets sent to affected areas.. which means there\'s less for us to buy so: it\'s hella expensive for us, and, we have to jack up the price to make a living. Seeing as the family lumber business is a small one, it can get pretty bad in one of these seasons. But, that\'s nothing compared to the devastation I\'ve seen on the news. The damage is terrible..

Good thing I live in Kansas.

Well, I think its over. Unless another one develops, we should be fine. Dude, I think Jeanne gave the most damage. Our house is still fine, just the usual leaves in the yard. I spent half the day last sunday setting up our generator, and the other half sleeping. I didnt notice any major damage from Francis, Charley, or any of the others (Ive lost count :( ). On Highway 19, there were billboards held up by 5 posts, all in a row. EVERY POST on many of them were COMPLETELY snapped! These posts were at least a foot or two in diameter. I saw a mobile home yesterday that resembled modern art. Yes, Jeanne was that bad. I have a friend in North Carolina and he said that a lot of areas up there were flooded.
