First of all, I know this probably is a bit awkward, since I just registered and this is my first post on the boards here. Up until now, I have mainly been lurking around without posting anything. Some of you may know me from the Rockman.EXE Online boards, though. If you don\'t, ask any respected member there and they\'ll tell you that I can be trusted with this sort of stuff. Anyways, I simply cannot let a large-scale case of such gross plagiarism go unnoticed by the rightful owner of the work.

The thieves are an MSN group called \"Megaman Domain\", located at http://www.msnusers.com/megamandomain/. They have stolen countless pieces of fanart, copied tons of information verbatim off of sites, and stolen bandwidth by directly hotlinking to said sites\' fanart, while giving no credit to them whatsoever and claiming every last byte of it as their own.

Many of us, including me, have tried to politely tell them to take it down. We have also tried slightly less polite methods after being polite proved fruitless. (Read: Threatening both legal and other actions.) They have yet to take down a single byte of the stolen work, only deleting our posts and banning us for telling them to do so.

I am not asking for anybody to go over there and flame them or to send this to everybody in your inbox. However, I am asking that you pass this on to the rightful owners of the stolen content and/or any people or sites that might be able to contact them. A news posting or something along those lines wouldn\'t hurt, either. Also, please tell them to take down the stolen work and that what they did is wrong. While they\'ve ignored and banned a number of us already, I think it would help if enough people told them to stop it.

Those bast***s! I tried asking the main guy about this and he just started cussing at me and all that crap! they just ownt give in!

Why doesn\'t someone report this to MSN? If this is la breach of legal issues, then it\'s their responsibility to eliminate this group, isn\'t it?

Also, are these people stealing sprites? If they are, and especially if mine are among them, I\'d like to know as soon as possible.

EDIT: Just checked and... they stole a bunch of metralman\'s comics and stuff! I haven\'t seen any of my stuff, yet. However, I really hate to see metralman\'s stuff being stolen. I\'ve already emailed him about this, but I don\'t know what he can do about it.

Unfortunately, this group has also stolen from Planet Megaman, and several other sites. PMM sent e-mails to both MSN Customer Services and Capcom USA... Surprisingly, MSN seems to not give a flying turd, and has not bothered to reply to numerous emails. Meanwhile, Capcom has given them a very prompt reply, and says they\'re looking into it.

Puh, I\'ve seen plenty of MSN groups go down for having copyrighted pictures.. I should ask the members how they went down so fast. We could use those tactics.

I have a few contacts in the groups so, if they still dont stop I will see what can I do, its sad to look how there are people that enjoy the rewards from other´s work:(

There is currently no Searchman avatar because there are no MM7+ mugshots available. When these games were made, they threw out mugshots in favor of sprites on the selection screen.
