Well now, I've not been to the boards in awhile... Thought it might be time for a drop-in. Kinda feels strange posting on a forum, whilst so used to being in IRC.
Considering this was my very first forum, I kinda thought it special to come around and poke it a few times with my IP octet.
20 years ago (plus three days), the web officially went online with the availability of the very first website! What people commonly call "the Internet" today is actually the World Wide Web, a subset of the entire Internet. After all, before websites were available, people could still connect to each other by e-mail, Telnet, Gopher, USENET, Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) and others.
Things sure changed a lot since those first websites were made available, and I can easily say that ...

Anywho, now that we've finally entered June, we're supposed to have uncomfortably warm weather right now. But instead, we have sunny and breezy weather. And it gets so darn cold at night. At least it'll spare me the electric fan.
But this ain't no excuse to emit more greenhouse gases into the air. The next thing I'll invest in are solar panels and minature wind turbines to power my AC. At least we don't ...
To Tri-Edge- thanks for the mouse help. It didn't work (the thing was ball&track) but still, thanks.
Something recently popped up.
Y'see, The M key is all messed up. when I press any key on the bottom row (or enter)it spits out a string of "m"s. However, when I press the M key directly, nothing happens.
Example(Comma),mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm (I backspaced eventually, as the thing covered the screen. When i press the m key, results. Nothing. I am using a USB keyboard ...
Bin Laden Dead, U.S. Official Says
By HELENE COOPER
WASHINGTON —President Obama announced late Sunday that Osama bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks, was killed in a firefight during an operation he ordered Sunday inside Pakistan, ending a 10-year manhunt for the world’s most wanted terrorist. American officials were in possession of his body, he said.
“On nights like this one, ‘’ the president said, “we can say that justice has been done.’’
99 years ago today at 11:40PM the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic ocean. 2 hours and 40 minutes later the "ship of dreams" was to rest at the bottom of the sea forever. We gather in this topic today to remember those lost in this disaster. May they rest in peace. We also gather here to remember the ones who survived the incident. They have all passed away. The youngest one Millvina Dean, died at the age of 97.
Its hard to believe. When I was a kid, there were ...
I am watching TV Tokyo and NHK because I somewhat understand the Japanese language.
My heart goes out to Japan right now, many people say they are "used" to this type of disaster, but definatly NOT to this extent. It is really annoying that some people believe it's "not that big of a deal" because they feel things like this happen in Japan all the time.
Right now I am on Spring Break and my Japanese teacher did not go back to Japan but her family and friends ...
As a Texas resident, I find the political system...disturbing.
Example-the two major political parties, Republicans and Democrats are at political war. Just now, I heard a "senator" yelling "LET'S TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK!!!" This is disgusting, because what one party passes, the other vetoes, not because the bill passed was bad, but because the other party passed it. This has led to many... conflicts.
EDIT: To clarify for those thinking it an April Fools joke due to the posting date, it is not an April Fools joke. See the Wiki page. Edited by Morphman on April 6, 2011 at 20:26:04
Dr. Brad Carter, Senior Lecturer of Physics at the University of Southern Queensland, outlined the scenario to news.com.au. Betelgeuse, one of the night sky's brightest stars, is losing mass, indicating it is collapsing. It could run out of fuel and go super-nova at any time.
When that happens, for at least a few weeks, we'd see a second sun, Carter says. There may also be no night during that timefr ...
Here's a question for you people who have watched a decent amount of anime and read a nice amount of manga.
Whenever some series are available in both formats, such as Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist and Rurouni Kenshin, they get adapted to fit better within their medium. For example, an anime might skip some plot points or merge characters to get things done at a faster pace, while it's also possible to see new side stories if the matching manga's release pace is slow.
Last month in Mississippi, a kid wore pink cleats to both a football game and the next following practice, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month and his grandmother, a breast cancer survivor, who provided him the cleats in the first place.
So his coach kicked him off the team for it, denying him not only the chance to play, but the chance to graduate from high school.
This is a bit ridiculous. Good thing my parents want to drop our AT&T service.

With its otherwise quiet northern neighbour currently in an uproar over usage-based billing (UBB) for Internet service, America is about to begin a UBB debate of its own.
AT&T, among the largest Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the United States, confirmed plans Sunday evening to introduce a 150GB (gigabyte) mon ...
NewWii Weirdness Why is it doing this and how do I get it to stop? Started by RisingDragon on 10 September 2010 at 17:39
So I've been noticing that when I don't use my Wii console for a while, it starts picking up strange habits. When it hasn't been used in a while, the case light around the CD slot begins a weird process in which it brightens to a point, flickers three times, then immediately goes dim before starting all over again. It does this constantly. I can unplug it to get it to stop, but after a while once its plugged back in, it starts doing it again.
It's apparently a carrier pigeon Twitter instead of a carrier pigeon IM though.
In that vein we are proud to announce Meebo Carrier Pigeons.
Over the next six months, Meebo will be building the world’s largest and most comprehensive network of pigeon roosts and training a vast messaging army to bring web-based communication to the skies. Here’s how it will work: right-click a Meebo buddy on the buddy list, select “send message by carrier pigeon”, and enter a 140 character max me ...
NewPicto chat Im just gonna say it, its worthless.. Started by Tri-Edge on 31 March 2011 at 21:00
Picto chat. For those who dont know what it is. It is a chat program that comes preinstalled on DS systems.
Because it only works with people you're close to it not only renders the program useless but it also makes it completely redundant.
I wish someone made an MSN and YAHOO messenger app for it. One that worked real time without needing refreshed. Edited by Tri-Edge on March 31, 2011 at 22:01:07
You remember the original series Neon Genesis Evangelion that came out 1996? It aired 26 episodes and also had a movie and or TRUE ending release on DVD. The real last 2 episodes.
Now after a few years... its been a while yes... with new technology and a great budget the creator says that this is the way he wanted Evangelion to be!
So is this the true Evangelion and the other is just a shadow? Or is it the other way around? Or do you simply love both of them? Thats for you to decide. I ...
As of late, I have been recording both original Law & Order and SVU. I watched pretty much all of SVU and covered at least half of Law & Order, and I came to conclusion.
IT'S SILLY.
Overacting. Copy and Paste characters and cases. Defense Lawyers being outrageous evil. Explosive messages.
Most of the time, it's hard to take something seriously, even with the serious score.
And so I am on a website, and suddenly my mouse flies up and hits the X in the up-right corner.
The first 10 times, I thought I was just being an idiot.
BUT IT'S BEEN HAPPENING FAR TOO OFTEN...
y'see, even when my mouse is in the middle of the screen, or far bottom- left corner, and the thing just flies up to hit the X. And I never even click. My browser closes, and I'm left going WTH just happened. Infact, the 1st time, I had no idea how my browser closed at al ...
So today I noticed that on the chatbox on my own RP site, my text, which is usually colored an acceptable red, is now showing pixel discoloration: most of the text is black, with only some of the pixels colored red. When highlighting text, regardless of who it belongs to, there is more discoloration. The highlight is black, and therefore the text becomes white... with dark blue pixel discolorations, making it nigh-impossible to read.
And finally, some of the icons in my taskbar have som ...
Who doesn't like the movie Avatar, with its amazing CGI and semi-awesome story about a planet called Pandora?
Well, the entire plot was copied from a TV show- Dinotopia.
As I was watching the sci-fi channel, I realized that ALMOST EVERY SINGLE PLOT ELEMENT of Avatar came from this show. It has the flying creatures, the "evil dudes taking over an area to build something", the guy from the dark side learning from the natives, the native woman falling in love, the host ...
NewHey. Remember Me? The original Hardman wants to say something. Started by Hardman on 2 February 2011 at 3:02
Remember five years ago? Where a guy named Hardman ranted and raved about the most needless topics, wanted to become a mod. to gain power, and got banned?
Yeah. That was me.
Before I go any further, I want to apologize to Bleedman for the 'post.' I'm sorry.
You see, I was a loser back then. Had no real friends, annoyed people, ate a lot, and played videogames 24/7. And I liked it, for some damn reason. I honestly don't remember why I thought that was cool.
Comedy is hard, given what today's audience expectations. So trying to be funny in one line is going to a long, hard and bumpy road. Most of the time, they fall flat. (Read:Rover Dangerfield)But there are people who can kill you with just one line. (Read: Roger Dangerfield)
Mine? From Shadow Hearts: Covnenat, comes a line from the bad-ass main character, Yuri Hyuga, apon seeing the boss, a giant, pink, fire magician, thief housecat (Andre) says this!
