A while ago, Make and I came up with a brilliant solution to a terrible problem.

The problem is that many mod.s aren\'t online when Make and I are online and this is simply because of the time differences. BreakMan is sometimes online at the same time as us but quite rarely. Three days ago, Yumi K. and Keiji both announced that they are leaving from moderating activities, and leaving both boards completely (here and oekaki), so I\'m now on the lookout for new staffers. I won\'t detail the reasons for them quitting, but let\'s just say it\'s pretty safe to assume they won\'t come back.

People are frequently getting after others for bumping topics lately. I\'m getting kind of sick of this...

Bumping topics is neccessary, is it not? I mean, the mods lock a topic that\'s a repeat of an older topic and do something like..say, a newbie arrives..makes a topic about a Megaman game that was already talked about, so the mod closes it and directs the person to the old topic. When they bump the topic, aren\'t they following mods directions? Aren\'t we -supposed- to bump old topics ...

Why are there rules that do not permit asking for roms, or giving links?

I\'m working on the new chatroom, and this new script allows moderators to be named. Those people can kick people from the chat, as well as enforce the rules as necessary.

To help everything running smoothly over there (we can expect more visitors than with the current chat), I\'m looking to appoint two moderators to the chat. As always, I stay as administrator. I think my account was hacked. I have reason to believe this because when I tried to sign in, none of the my password wouldn\'t work, no matter how many times I tried. I finally gave up, and did the whole forgot password thing. My password was some random set of letters and words! Just thought I should mention.

Doc, it says \"HTML disabled\" when you edit your profile and posts. Is it possible to turn HTML on? I wanted to try some stuff with it, but it seems there is no way to enable it.

If not, then I guess lock this.

Chatroom alternative solutions

There has been quite some talk about that chatroom a while ago, as it had some problems with spam, annoying members, pop-ups, and the like. I worked on some alternative solutions, and got three of them. Here\'s a rundown of each possibility, with the positive and negative points of each. Click on the title of a chatroom to open it! Please note that the two last rooms weren\'t much customized yet. They would get some changes to make them easier to use.

There are many message board scripts available, each one having more or less features. Out of all those options, which ones do you think are important? It can go from the private messenger to the clickable BBCode and smilies, passing by the who\'s online and the stats page, or anything else.

While XMB has several features, some could be added or removed, depending of how you use them. This goes to any other board script out there, like the Ikonboard I used to run.

I\'m getting closer to completing the new Oekaki board, and I\'m now organizing how it will run. To avoid any big mess like there was last time, I want to make sure there are moderators ready before opening. While the new system is a lot more secure, and I can fully control it from anywhere (no need to be at home anymore), mods are still required to get sure that everything runs smoothly.
