I spent part of the past two days playing around with DynMap settings, locally generating alternate views using various settings. As a test run, I've fully generated Gondwana's 3D map (the isometric view) with the highest amount of detail possible on a 30 degrees perspective (replacing the current 60 degrees view). This full render, instead of the usual 2 hours, took about 30 to complete (and overheated my PC once!). At 3.10 GB of disk space compared to the current 138 MB, this isn ...
On event night, around 9:00 PM Central (10:00 Eastern) time this Saturday the 24th, I will be dropping the wall on my Top Secret Project. Don't get too excited, this IS a Salifax Build, which means it is unfinished. But I think you will enjoy the first glimpse at the build.
Doc is putting in a TARDIS so it will be easy to get to. I can give directions through the Nether, but it's kind of a pain and not fully connected yet.
A few of us were discussing the possibility of getting a 3rd alternate world made for us to play on. The idea was to make the 3rd world The End. As we all know the current End gets reset about every 2 weeks give or take so people can kill the dragon and get the xp and achievement for it. But because this world gets reset so often we aren't able to play and build in that world. The idea of making a 3rd alternate world strictly for The End would help solve this issue. We could then enjoy ...
I saw this the other day, the Back to the Future one. Turns out the guy has done more. Click on through to see the paths that Marty takes through Hill Valley, where the Enterprise went in Wrath of Khan, and a couple others.
Back to normal, from that shattered world of madness!
This year's prank involved taking a few parts of three towns, throwing them into the End, and integrate the USS Voyager as a final destination of a rally going through all areas. As such, players who wanted "rescue" had to make the following steps:
- Start in Central and find the added teleportation point in the TransHub
- Navigate Stone Ville's sewers up to the underground lobby
- Visit the ruins of Sydney and f ...

So there's this amazing website called Scale of the World. It basically lets you zoom in to the smallest known measurement, out to the outer bounds of the observable universe. It's truly awe inspiring and small-feeling-making.
A friend of mine recently discovered something everyone needs to see on the Neptune scale...
MagicMarker101 and Myself are looking for 5 more members to join the Akatsuki of Naruto on Creeper's Lab, the positions open are Kakuzu, Hidan, Kisame, Konnan, and Sasori. If you are interested contanct myself or Magic if you are interested.

This is right outside my hotel room. Of course I immediately thought of Creepers Lab.

So Sunday morning I was taking a leisurely stroll along a lava lake near Silver Cane Nether Fortress, when I saw a stranded swimmer away from shore! He was bobbing up and down, looking around for some way out of the firey lake. Clad in full iron armor and wielding a diamond sword, I knew I had to help this fellow traveler.
As I drew nearer, I realized something was amiss. His complexion was somewhat less than...human. Finally, I realized the horrible truth - this was one of the undead, a ...
This is the current banner used to promote the Creeper's Lab, both on servers lists and various forums.
For some time now, I've been meaning to create a new one, more visually attractive, animated, listing various server features and what not. I never seem to sit down and actually do it, so I thought: "Why not ask someone else to do it?"
Your mission, should you choose to accept it: design an animated, 468 x 60 pixels banner, used to promote the Creeper's Lab ...
So I keep seeing almost every day - Last Post - Today - Kagato. or Last Post - Yesterday - Dr. Cossack. But I can't FIND any new posts. The last one is in the screenshots post from like 2/2. So, is the forum messing with me? Is there a secret forum that I'm not invited to? Or am I missing something?
its still in construction but is open since main building and payment system is done its next to the court hous the name is the principality of zeon general store
So, I could really use like a metric ton of chiseled stone brick for some of my/our forthcoming builds. The problem. They're not craftable (seriously Mojang, STILL?!) and only obtainable via Jungle Fortresses; and even then, only 3 per measly blocks per the entire fortress. Honestly I doubt the combined inventory of anybody that has some on the server would suffice for the quantity that I am wanting. Any chance we could get a trade-in system of sorts, maybe like a vendor at spawn? I hat ...
If you're like me and Minecraft immediately crashes when trying to launch, try disabling your Resource Pack re-run. As is noted on the Optifine thread, there seems to be some bugs with connected textures and doesn't appear to like mine. :P
Alright, so I'm planning on running a live stream on Jan. 4th during events night. Tonight I logged onto the server and streamed a little bit (or that was my intention) to see how it would work with Minecraft and identify any issues. This turned into a random 5 hour stream, with between 20 and 25 watchers. We had Anonymous_SoFar, Sphenicus, DrCossack, Daylightnightmar, myself, and even ADeadlyFish in the voice chat. Lots of fun, pranks, playing and stories went on, and we even identifie ...
Ice Plain Spikes(useful for Packed Ice - does not melt - requires Silk Touch):
-5800, -30,190.
It would be nice/cool - if the really large ice spikes were left intact and not mined. :P
I have built a joining rail from the Sanctum line. It currently doesn't stop, just remember to hop off at -3,798 to find the alternate rail to take you out to the ice fields. Edited by kagato on December 30, 2013 at 23:41:08
Was really hoping they'd have a recommended release by Christmas, but at least progress is being made as the Bukkit team released what they are calling a Beta build.
"A Beta Build is in between a developer build and a Recommended Build. These builds simply work and are promoted much more frequently than a Recommended Build. While we will do some testing before promoting a beta build, we will not be running it through our extensive test process. As such, there are no guarantees t ...
Since the move to 1.7 will feature a new land generator, no matter what we do, we'll be getting somewhat ugly biome borders. This gives us an opening to try doing stuff differently.
I received a request some time back to use large biomes for the main world, and I wanted to get the mood of the community on the idea. As a reminder, large biomes look and generate the same as regular ones, except that they're 4x4 times bigger on the x and z axis.
I've noticed that my house was broken into, filled with smooth stone(From my chests) and badly patched up outside with stone bricks to not draw attention. I have also noticed in some houses with locked doors, glass has been broken so an individual could enter them.
Any idea when the Map is going to be usable again?
Also, can't get to "News" on the "Creeper's Lab", get

I finally got that lag problem under control. I'm writing this topic for those interested in more technical information on what happened. This took a while to debug as there happened to be two large sources of slowdowns, so looking for a single solution didn't work.
1- LWC using up too many resources
LWC is our plugin taking take of doors / chests / furnaces protection. The latest main update added a way to protect hoppers as well. Unfortunately, a bug caused it to emit signals ...
I've had a couple people get a hold of me over skype and private messages in the last 24 hours asking why they can't connect to the server. I've also had a LOT of people get at me over the Creeper's Lab Facebook and IRC asking the same question with the same concerns. I want to go ahead and go over that with you, now.
You're not banned. The server didn't move. And the server was not shut down. We will be back up and running as soon as possible. Roughly 24 hou ...
I discovered the amplified map type a few days ago, and decided to give it a spin.
Newly added in MC 1.7, those maps feature the same biomes as expected with the notable difference that they stretch UP. Most of the tall mountains peak at about y=250, and those are found in every biome type except a few obvious ones like oceans. They create insanely complex mountains with holes in them along with floating islands, and remind me quite a bit of the pre-beta 1.7 extreme hills areas. I made a ...
